It's only $15. I pay more than that for cheese each month. I like cheese.

A hardcore gamer will duck out of work and jet home to get on and play. If your casual then you should have plenty of extra time at work to do an hour of overtime a month to pay for it lol.

Hell....you could spend an hour in a fountain at the mall and scrounge up 15$ in change these days.

I wouldn't mind paying for a set amount of hours rather than days. Kind of like a dodgy pre-paid mobile account. Buy $30 Worth of calls and spend 30 worth of calls. This will appeal alot to the casual players out there.
I would rather pay for the time I spend on an mmo then an allotted number of days to play in. I am in an industry that requires alot of overtime so I only get a few hours every weekend to spare. So I would rather pay for 150 hours and know I can take 6 months to use up those hours if I had to. Rather than pay 6 times that amount to get the same amount of hours =/

Edit: It wasnt my idea! Sorry Sukumei <3

Yes, I'm glad you're posting it again because I missed it the first time. ^^ I like this idea, some people really get a lot out of their 15$ a month and some don't come close.

This to me is a far better choice then the dreaded item malls, or the micro transaction trend looming over NCsoft.. /cry

The question is how many new players will this attract? and how many people who originally would have paid the $15 are now paying less?...I couldnt see something like this making NCSoft any money, it might even cost them money

lol...i honestly dont even know anyone who has a computer good enough to run wow but complains about 15$ a month. Most of the people i know have at least 1 account when they play any mmo. Then theres xbox live subscriptions...ug.

Now that adds up...$15? hell thats nothing considering the money people used to spend on xbox and playstation games. Most of hte console games arent quality anymore and you can beat em in a few days...thats $60! AKA 4 months of playtime on an mmo.

good deal if you ask me, wow saved me a ton of money.

Just use NCsoft's own timecards as a payment option and you're set.

I think a scheme where you pay for hours played is technically hardly feasable. They'd need to monitor each player's activity - when they login and for how long and keep tabs on that - to implement that and it would impact server-performance to have too much monitoring going on .

It's like paying for an hamburger, and then ask half the money back because I only gave 1 bite on it. A fixed 15$ tax is the best idea.

Don't see the problem. If you leave the game alone for a longer period, cancel then sign up again when you've got the time to spare.

I'm as casual as they get when it comes to MMORPG'ing, leave the game alone for weeks and Blizzard runs of with my money. Not any more though, cuz I canceled. *evil laugh*

But its not about being cheap, its about giving new options to people who are looking for more of a casual approach.

If they didn't have this option I would still pay 15 dollars a month, but if they gave me the option for paying by hour at double the rate. (eg. 30 dollars for 120 hours, that's 25c an hour.) I may choose that option depending on how much time I know I can spare each month.

Casual players should play Free to Play games...or WoW.
If a high quality item was available to the "casual" customers, It would be the same as being able to rent a Ferrari @ Budget Car Rental.

I don't see how a $15/month is necessarily for hardcore players only? I consider myself a casual player and have no qualms with dishing out monthly fees. I understand that people have this notion that if they don't play X hours because they're paying a 15/month then they're wasting their money. However, it's like any other service. I pay $30/month for DSL, but don't feel obligated to downloading a certain amount or browsing a certain number of hours to feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Lastly, the monthly fee doesn't just go to your game time, but also towards maintaining quality service for everyone.

I'm all for the monthly fee because I've noticed a higher standard of quality from games that have this pricing plan (naturally).
