I'm sorry but this thread was a waste of my time, I think we should al wait and see what happens.
I don't care if it looks like L2 or not, I want this game to rock. -Dyna,

I get the same feeling sometimes. About it lacking something.
But I'm not going to worry just yet. This game is still in beta and has time to make some changes until its' release. Plus as mentioned before- this is only the first installment. And this game will quite surely have expansions :3 So basically- try not to worry just yet. After all- People's reviews and opinions are mostly good X3

I have no problem with RvR, what I have problems with are instances, no communication between enemies (it should never be global, or region based, should only be local or yell/shout), there have been very few RvR based PvP games that have done PvP to its potential like L2 did, the main reason I even consider L2 to be good is just because of the PvP experience it offers, and the way combat/graphics look and feel. The only other game I can think of that did PvP well, was DaoC, however regretfully I never got a chance to play it. I think Aion will be a good PvP experience, as long as they dont WoW it up. |

I played L2 and to be hones same class across different races didn't seem to be all that different from each other. There were some differences, but not that great to say that they were completely different. Besides having new classes is easier to balance. Once again it looks like L2 but it's not.

End this L2 nonsence please... I just hope that there will be more different skills to choose so you would be able to adjust your playstyle to your class, and not all gladiators for example to look and act the same. The time will show. I can't wait to put my hands on this baby

I personally prefer it like they've made it. The only thing I'd really want is some sort of talent tree,so you can increase some of your current skills and perhaps give you a new one, making each and every character a little more "unique". Like some other probably have mentioned, with more classes there will be balancing issues. If they manage to balance the current ones the game will get far.
About content, it's still in beta. Take a glimpse of the game and I'm sure you understand how much work they've put down on graphics and performance etc, with that I mean, they ain't gonna let such a promising game go to waste , they will probably put down a huge amount of time and work into making more/improving the current content once the basics of the game is working properly. What I worry about is that fortress siege'ing will become tiring fast, and they've already stated that. But what can you really do to make it less repetitive? I guess different boss abilities but it doesn't seem that the AI of the mobs/bosses are that great yet. It seems to be "easy" if you follow the tank-and-spank method and make sure that people pick up adds fast/focus dps. |

Sort of
Like the talent trees in WoW and Diablo, but MUCH more simplier, more like a tweaks to your character Something you choose to be different and not like everybody else![]() And assasin with polearm... I've seen it and I still hope that it is bug... ps: now that persepha said, the sieging will really become boring very fast..I would use annoying. Damn I haven't seen that point by now ![]() Last edited by July; 07-26-2008 at 06:45 PM.. |

talent trees are fail in every game except maybe d2 because of the endless gear, and ability to use any gear on any class...people will just cookie cut build and the other builds will be inferior. Sieges should be about the pvp between defenders and attackers, not about killing a raid boss

Wanna read my post again? My point was I felt concerned that Aion was lacking content atm. Hence the topic. You redicule my entire statement, but dont touch on the points I was getting at. I'll make it easy for you. I feel that Aion with the limited amount of classes/races and the RvR PvP system will lack strategic elements I was hoping it would have (even with stigmas). You can't argue with that. The game will be less complicated than I had hoped for. As far as the carebear statement I made. I apologize if I insulted you or something. It wasnt aimed at the players mindsets but the RvR playstyle (big difference). Not sure where you got the weak babies idea from. Or the assumption that I was thinking this game offered no pvp (lol?). |

The whole limited amount of classes is a good thing at this stage of a game. Remember this game is nearly done CB. They are still working on the base classes and other elements of the game. I do not think ANY discussion about having a small amount of classes being a problem is even worth since L2 itself started out with small amount of classes as previously stated. Complicated pvp in a real time game isn't worth it imo. Majority of people who play pvp want it to be balanced, fluid, tactical, and fun. When things are complicated it takes the fluid and fun part out of it. If it isn't fun then I do not see the point.
