Server?

I know its going to be difficult, but are we going to try and get as many people from AionSource as we can onto the same server?

I know location and things will make it difficult, but I think it would be cool to be able to play with the people we've been waiting with for so long.

What are your thoughts?

It probably won't matter in the end, since when the game ships there will probably be a ton of people here, and they can't all possibly be on the same server.

I'll probably make subforums for each server so residents of each can talk about their server-specific events, etc.

It's kinda hard to decide on something like that so early. We don't even know how they're going to set up the servers, or what kinds of pvp or rp servers there will be. I'm sure some of us will end up on the same server though

If the servers were the same as PSU which were to have one big server and then like 10 sub servers this would be possible. But i have the feeling that with the size of this game it will be separate servers like wow.

erm im going to the server that gives best UK ping, and prob most popular for best guilds :P

not sure if this has been brought up already, but does anyone know if the servers will be split American-European-Japanese or w/e?

I like the GW server system, but that would mean characters could bounce between servers and take advantage of EVERY particular property executed over time by players' actions... I don't know why, but I think I'd feel sleasy taking advantage of other players' actions like that... :P Maybe they could make a server only for AionSource Members

... But then again, how many are we, 1000 going on 2000? I'm not very experienced about the fitting player number in each server, but something tells me that's not enough :P... And about choosing servers, I think it would be great if we could chose a different server for each character... The storage system would then allow items being traded from one character to another, except the ones made from, containing, or consisting of exclusive server materials, minerals, jewels or whatever, as well as items dropped by exclusive server mobs... That would be ideal, imo...

we really have no information whatsoever on this, and we probably won't until closer to launch

Don't bring up te GW server thing again. That infamous thread nearly made me drive into a lake.

I will be going a random EU server. They generally have roughly the same pings i guess. I'll be seeing most of you UK and Europeans anyway most probably.

Might make an East coast alt depending on playability. MMO's generally allow for higher latencies so...we'll see.
