Aion on Gamespot

jus thought it was worth mentioning that I spotted Aion in the "latest & Greatest" section on Gamespot.com. I hardly ever see our beloved game mentioned on the front page of "major" game sites, cept maybe mmo sites.
Anyway, thought it was kewl to get a lil' respect!

I mean it though. It seems really odd to me how few people have heard of Aion. Ask about it in most games and people are just clueless. I fill them in on it, of course

Aion has been on mmorpg.com for a while and is either 1st or 2nd in anticipated games. Good that it's reaching more sites though.

Have no fear, Aion will be the subject of much online discussion in the coming months. The Marketing and PR campaign for the US and EU launch is just about to get started. There are going to be exciting times in the future. I cannot stress enough that if you have the opportunity to visit the Games Conference in Leipzig or Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, both events next month, DO IT!

Prolly cause you're giving out beta invites? Just a guess. Sadly, no way I can make the events this year.

With AoC faded from the limelight, Warhammer dropping potential players like flies, and no other up and coming serious MMOs; Aion's got a golden window for launch. Just hit 4-6 months after both Warhammer and Wrath of the Lich King and it'll be a good, solid launch.

That being said, I can't wait to see the PR/marketing that NCSoft has setup for Aion. Somehow I get the feeling that they just might really hit hard in the west.
If you want a very strong marketing hit, release a character generator before launch so people can play around with character design options. Western MMOs can't compete with a solid, diverse character customization setup like Aion's already got. It's one of the BIG things missing from nearly every major western MMO.

Are you aiming for a April or May launch? I know that's the best time for any new IP to be released, and when the most sales happen for new IP.

NCsoft needs to fill people in on Aion, the only other person I know who actually knew what Aion was when I mentioned it was my girlfriend and she only knew because I talked about it to her before. I think NCsoft needs to put the word out in the world and not just Korea I mean hell none of the folks at EB games, Game Crazey, or Game Stop, knew what is was come on NCsoft do what looks to be a good MMO some justice and spread the word.

this is good news

my friend walked into a local game store and asked the dude working there if he could tell him a bit about warhammer online, so he got a 10 minute lesson on the games mechanics and whatnot.
however, when he asked the guy about aion, he said that he hadn't heard of it at all.
