Class with most DPS

DPS for those of you who don't know means Damage Per Second, i am wondering which people think the most DPS will belong too. From past games its always seems to be the Mage's that dealt the most DPS... do you guys think they will in Aion or do u wish another class will do the most DPS.

*The classes we know of so far are in this poll im sure there will be more.*

I choose Ranger, just because im 1337 and a progamer. It will more likely to be a casting class such as the wizard. But i would like it to be Ranger, thing is a lot of people are probably goin to compare classes to WoW, but this game could be completely different and you never know Kam, Warriors may just do the most damage . We will all just have to see

Gotta be a wizard otherwise no-one would be them as that is what they are for.

Can't imagine a ranger knocking out more damage otherwise there would be no perks to being a wizard at all. Being weak and no doing as much damage or medium armour and more damage.

If Warriors do the most DPS i'll eat my hand.

Most people will say the wizard type classes, I"d like to believe each of the damage dealing classes has the potential for the most DPS when geared and played properly. And bosses, missions and various other things depend as well, in many MMO's it's the wizards though because they have a drawback of being so weak. In FFXI Warriors and Monks Vs normal monsters did the most DPS hands down, but in major fights usually Black Mages (Wizards basically) and sometimes others depending on the boss they're against, I'd like to see where certain classes have a proficiency either against another class, or a type of monster or something to that degree so there is a system of weaknesses and strengths so you're forced to play with more strategy and thinking, rather than just running out and spam attacking everything in a field, also hope somehow there's a type of claim so that when you're attacking a monster and another attacks it, they either can't attack it, or better yet they attack it and it gives you full exp and them nothing. KSing isn't usually that big of problem as with others in MMO's now, but it's still really annoying, especially on quest mobs.

like koji mentioned, without serious damage potential there will be a serious balance issue with mages. the tradeoff for low armor is high damage potential at range. clever ways to change the dynamic are welcome, of course. however, if warriors do the most damage you'll never see a ranger or mage, unless they have SERIOUS abilities to cripple warriors to keep out of attack range.

my vote for most dps would be mage/wizard... followed by the ranger/rogue classes. i would like for priests to be able to break out some decent damage as well, not as much as mages or rangers, but enough to not be pansies spamming heal spells.... priests are notoriously under-powered and i dont think that should continue!


ahh, i just read omokiron's post, i like it! maybe even some situations where the priest is the DPS king! woooo! i would feel so proud

All depends on what type of healer it is. If you have a cleric type healer they shouldn't do too much damage but if you have a priest type then they should do more. This should still be less than the rest of the classes though.

Would be good to see different type of class for the 2 factions.

IE. Chosen are a nuking healer (Blood Mage, Priest) : Fallen are a melee healer (Shaman) or maybe get the choice as a branch off class heirarchy (sp?)

There are discussion threads on how the classes work elsewhere so i'll leave it there.

It'll be really nice if Every class does good DMG and the only difference between the class is the playing style. range, melee, kite, magic etc

not sure if people understand what I mean.

Mages and priests need some sort of kiting. I think rangers may get limited but they should be able to defend themselves in melee too. Warriors should get no kiting.

But yes the priests shouldn't have to stand there for ages attacking and healing for 1 mob.

warrior should be able to kite a little as well. I mean think about it mage kite a warrior non-stop and their spells make armor useless isn't really fair. I mean I know caster are wearing cloth but still. I just hope this game will be balance for all classes. I really don't think that will happen

It'd be cool to have priests be able to use shields/swords similar to warriors, at the same time doing holy damage as one build, and of course, healing as another.

I would have assumed Wizard would have spike damage and something like Ranger would have DPS. Then Warrior would has some DPS and tanking abilities. Priest of course, being the healing.

I'd like to see the damage dealing roles in PvE shared amongst the classes and dependent upon the situation. In a battle versus the undead, I'd like to see priests be the undisputed kings, for example. None of this "save your mana for healing and stand there until we're hurt" garbage - it'd be the party wizard whimpering in jealousy as the priest dishes out some humbling damage.

For short fights, I'd say wizards. For any battle of extended duration where the wizard is likely to run out of juice, ranger.

in the vids it shows a priest wielding a sword, not sure about a shield... however those vids are old and i have no idea how things have developed since then

Wizard will do the dost dps because they have the worst armour, otherwise what's the point of them.A Warrior will have the best armour so if thay do the most dps that's stupid.
