Flying and level cap?

As I've seen several movies, I'm still wondering, are we able to fly around where ever we want? Just like, flying to every place in the air that's possible to get to, or is it just a linear track and used as a transport action.

In the video's I saw the angel's all took the same way, so I was doubting bout the fact that its a free world.

And I guess no-one knows so far but anyone know the level cap?

I'm going to take a wild stab at this, and say that you might be able to have free-flight. Unless it's part of a special battle or cutscene; I've seen a video where characters were PvP'ing (I think) while flying.

As for the level cap, not really sure. I don't think any of that information has been given out.

From my understanding you need to fly to accees to some "plans" ( like abyss).. it seem to be aknowledge that you ll be able to fly/fight in the abysses... i cant say for sure in your own faction land.. would be weird not to be able to fly everywhere though.

ya i have read saying flying was also apart of combat there is even skills for in flight only. So hopefully its open flying sounds like sum fun PvP battles=p

I hope RJ or Amboss can give us some more information bout this cause the flying concept is actually the thing that attracted me to this game, if It's not ''fly wherever you want'' then it would be a big dissappointment.

I think flying around most places would be good, but I hope it doesn't mean everywhere. I think that would take away from the exploration on foot in a lot of areas.

I agree. Also, there should be some other limitations to flying. I dont know much about Aion's flight but I dont want to fight a guy who ends up taking flight and getting away because I cant do aerial combat yet. The idea of flying away from monsters on low health also sparks a point.

actually, there is free flight, and air combat. we have no information about a level cap at this time.

Yep, those videos where everyone was flying the exact same path was before free flight was in for sure. And level cap doesn't really matter that much. The thing to worry about is the time it takes to reach the level cap.

I like the free flight idea, limitations just wouldn't make that much sense unless it was some sort of time or energy limitation. As to not wanting your enemy to escape when PVPing, that's a realistic risk you'd have to take that they could fly away, and come back and finish you off, turning the tide of combat. Or even letting somebody who didn't want to be PKed or attacked leave, then again most PKer's would rather corner their victim than risk having them leave, so I guess some people will highly dislike free flight.

as far as i see for the level cap its at least 40+ looking at the game play videos.

im saying.... 60 is cap cud be completely wrong... but also cud be right in that case you all owe me a hot cross bun

To clear things up, like Zinrae said, the videos you guys have watched where flight seemed "on rails" are outdated. Free-flight is now very much a reality. You can fly anywhere, though I doubt you'll want to. Sure, flying to the top of a random mountain just for the heck of it might be fun, but there's probably nothing interesting up there other than a really cool view.

I was gonna say the same thing, well not word for word but with the videos been outdated. Can't believe no one else said it before you. Your lack of aion knowledge makes me sick!

Free flight is a good idea to my and in my opinion in some respects thats what is going to draw more people to the game. Its something no other MMO or even many games that have done it apart from wow which is limited to Outlands which sucked. + it gives the game a little more freedom, giving them a choice whether they want to walk or not, which imo is good if people dont have much time or are in a rush to be somewhere. and about level cap i have no idea ^^.

I remember playing a free flying mmo (flyff) and it was very limited. It was basically used to get from one area to the next. Airial combat was basic and there was only like 3-4 flying monsters in the whole game =/
There where a few spots where you could fly to and hide while you afk skilled, and it enabled you to travel the world looking at everything without getting nailed by aggros.

I always wanted to play an in depth flying fantasy game, so I hope aion can produce =D
