Regular pay to play... plain and simple.

It should be pay to play.

Having said that, I am very much for micro transactions for things like cosmetic items, pets that are cosmetic, etc. I say this because such things need to be created and if there is done apart from the regular game design then it has to be paid for.

Then again, I tend to pay extra for fine clothes so perhaps that is just in my nature.

Thats where it all starts, first its cosmetics, after that you get little pets and before you can say "roflcopterzomgicanseenow" they add XP potions.

Agreed. They could easily make an in game store, using in game currency to sell those items, that way the people who want them badly can farm enough to buy them, likewise they can give them away during in game events. Like Caedes said it never seems to end at cosmetics.

*cost nothing to develop
*should have been in the game already
*should be attainable without spending $
*restrict other players and unbalance gameplay in favor of profit.

If they go micro-transactions in any form I simply won't play it or stop subbing. I learned my lesson =).

Hey, I'm just being honest as to what I'm willing to pay for.

And let's be realistic. If any company wants to introduce items that allow for extra xp or buffs then they will.
It's not like they are going to suddenly have a palm slap and say "hey... wait a minute... we are charing for cosmetic items... so, well, you know.. maybe we could..."

It's up to the company to be sensitive to what the player base will find acceptable as well as how such things will affect their game.

But in no way is it a "slippery" slope of discovery. If they are going to do such things they are going to implement them anyways, regardless of the time frame.

We all know NCSoft sucks at business models, look at L2 and TR.

Aion's number 1 problem (mark my words) is going to be conflicts between the game dev's and the NA/EU companies. Does NCSoft Seouls paycheck increase because the game is successful in USA? They've already gone down hill with a non-global release. We'll have no say in the game, we bring up a complaint about something in the game...too bad the new expansion is already out in korea, its just gotta be translated to english so we can use it.
Calindor is online now

I wouldn't care if its just cosmetics but you know if they see allot of money flowing from this micro payment why shouldn't they try and bring more then just cosmetics. Don't understand me wrong i would fully support your wish, but i am also optimistic that any Company out there would like to milk the cow more then once. Kill the cancer before it spreads, or something between those line.

That is a good point.

I like pay to play and hate cash shops. Having a monthly subscription with access to all content is really smooth and just lets you play the game instead of worrying about paying for this or that. Free to play generally means crappy support.

This was already asked before in another thread and still P2P is the overall winner amongst all, and if this game goes F2P w/transactions i'll not be playing. Keep it P2P.

Pay to play all the way, Runes of Magic might be the only F2P I get into, might be.

Pay to play just seems so much more simpler in my eye rather than having to pay for upgrades, gear etc.
