Most of the time i just laugh at the comments. When i see a comment that is totally wrong (has all the facts wrong) i just wonder what type of person that is, and think my life is better than thiers =P

It's mostly skepticism. Aion could release an open beta client, could decide on a business model and they could prove people wrong about it being an Asian grinder.

However, they choose to keep Aion wrapped in mysticism which makes me highly skeptical too atm. I have been disappointed with quite a few MMO and I will not just blindly promote this game unless I have played a trial. A trial, so I can see, before purchase and after sufficient reviews of the final client, if this game is worth it or not and if it lives up to it's promises.

its probably a better use of your time to just spread the word about Aion once you've had a chance to play it... word of mouth, and the buzz/following we all believe this game will generate will do more to sway naysayers than any amount of convincing we could try before the game is available...

then again, some people are just narrow-minded idiots... did i just say that out loud?

They're not really facts, they're merely things NCsoft claims. AoC had a lot of 'facts' too if you go by your presumption, of which a lot turned out to be false or simply non-existent ones on release. Your premise that your life is better because you follow a game more closely doesn't make much sense, not in the least because a lot of people on the gametrailers site are just kids. I'm sure you had a lot of opinions about a lot of things around that age too.
I'm very sceptical about things in general though, it's a trait that makes me look and analyse things where I only look at negative aspects too much sometimes.

The point wouldn't be to target the 12 yo flamers but instead the people who are honestly interested and may chance upon a link to here which would provide them with everything they need to make their own assumptions based upon the available and correct info

It will be easier to defend the game when it will be out, possibly.

Erm, couldn't care less. I don't see why you're trying so hard to convince people, the ones who like what they see will catch interest.. the ones who look at Aion once and say "lame" is ignorant, and we don't want those people in the -first- place. I bet even the flamers like what they see, it's just that they enjoy being ignorant. Eventually they'll play it too.

Eh, at this point anyone could be right. To tell you the truth the more I read about the game the more I am starting to think its just going to be a typical Asian game with a reduced grind. They say they want the game more story-based but how is it more story based when the game is going to centered around castle-sieges? I don't get the PVP in MMO thing, I think PVP should be a secondary aspect to raiding/PVE. As it stands now people are just going to farm kills in the Abyss to get PVP gear, time > skill - as usual.

Just ignore people that overly obnoxious and don't take it so personally. Its the internet and people who can hide behind something are going to try to be macho.

The flamming has only just begun.... the closer the game comes to launch... the more and more flammers will pronounce thier opinion of the game. Such as it has been for every launch =/

Flammers have not age either, just like stupidity, hating is equal opportunity.

There's a LOT of people who express interest in Aion, but there are also a lot of people who show narrow mindedness-and even rascism (IE I don't want my character to look like a dirty jap). Now my question is, how do you respond to both the flamers and the people expressing curiosity.

For myself, when I read comments like- "it's just another typical asian grinder, pretty but no substance" I just wanna type a frickin essay telling the poster how wrong he is. On the other hand, do I really want someone so closed minded playing AIon with me?(no) Usually, I try to keep replies(when I do reply) succinct and to the point.

"It isn't going to be a typical asian grinder and it is pretty as well"
Looking in from the outside a lot of people may think it is a typical asian grinder. It's Korean, and the graphics have a hint of eastern visuals. I for one think people will always flame and bash games they don't understand or have never played that much. Even then, it's not like Aion looks totally eastern, it's a bit of a mix. I think the real ice breaker is the HYAAAH's of the voices, which from what I last heard sound asian.

Anyway, trying to talk to someone that flames something constantly (ex: fanboi making fun of aion over youtube) isn't worth your time. If the game is good, it will be good, and regardless of what some 18 year old nerd from Wisconsin says over youtube, the game will expand to new players across the globe if it a great game. It's pretty simple too, an easy process.

"Hey man you heard of Aion? Aion whats that. This game from Korean, you shoot lasers and fight giant cactus' .."

Any veteran MMO player will recognize Aion's potential.
