If you want to play open beta of AION, you have to validate your account with two methods. (cellphone or bank) ...

simply say, if you don't reside in korea, you can't play KR open Beta service..

Thanks for your answer! So, i need to have Korean mobile phone (to authorize via some sort or SMS code or voice) or i need to pay something via some cellphone service?

Seems to me it says that every closed beta acc had been withdrawn, everyone is a normal member again (not Daeva member), which means everyone need to apply to OB again, this time only true koreans have a chance to participate (confirmation via two methods). But ofc we should wait for a more accurate translation.

My korean friend translated it for me earlier. The thing basically says that they had alot of illegal accounts (I'm guessing stolen kssn signups) and they are wiping the accounts. People will have to sign up again for open beta and either send in ID, or use a cell phone that matches with the persons ID number to prove they are a korean citizen and eligible for the beta.

Hmm, and what we non-citizens or Korea are supposed to do now?

Its look like they are really NOT welcoming abroad players for a beta...

Thats extremely lame, the only hope to test the game is ruined, way to go -_-

Hmm, looks like my account wasn't deleted, the confirmation is only needed for newly created accounts or? Also where is the option to do that?

This new method is not active yet, will be when they'll start the signup for OB.

I hope that western made MMORPGs betas arent playable by easterns. I love them but thats just it.... a trade for a trade

That's called Localization. They probably only have the License to distribute Aion in Korea since PlayNC has the American and European one.

They actually have that for any game that has multiple licenses around the world. But since Western MMOs aren't produced as much as Eastern you don't notice.
