Free flying really free?

What i'm actually asking is, will it be "omg i wanna fly" and just wing up and go?

Or will it be a tracked system, like going from point a to point b, or flying freely inside battelfields only? (Ala Battlegrounds in WoW) etc etc?

Cuz i would really want it to just be....free.....

If i got tired of walking around i would want to wing and go, and i want to be in the woods, and some guy comes up to gank me, and i wing up and take it to the sky and kick hiss arse in the air and watch him fall to the ground dead like the coward he is for trying to gank ;p

and i want it to be instant. I know some games like to make movement adds have delays, but if both sides had the instant affect of flying, what would it matter, other than prolonging a fight for a few more seconds....

just some thoughts, and dangit somebody get a beta going!

I would think that the flight may be free with the cryengine being a sandbox but i think a certain amount of consideration has to be thought of as to the use of flight and to think about making players want to be on the ground too and not just flying around everywhere. I personally think that the flight will be used mainly for short transportation and for aerial dungeons in the sky. But with the whole aerial PVP thing coming in this will also be popular.

I just think the flight shouldn't be made too gimicky and serve a purpose than 'just because we can'. It will all become mundane fast if it isn't interesting and worthwhile.

I personally think the flying will be free and not just point to point like in FFXI with the airships and WoW with the air mounts. However I think there might be some limitations to where you can just land.

it is FREE FLIGHT... no tracks, no A to B only. we dont know anything about when you get your wings, how long it takes to use them and take off, etc. details will come when, well, when NCSoft wants us to know

They said its going to be FREE FLIGHT...which mean you get up and go...you can fight in air and you can fight from air to ground......well most this stuff is kinnda already answered

Ok this part might sound mean but WHY dont NEW ppl ever read up on this stuff or look in older post to see if there ANSWERS are there

I never said that. I'm just assuming not everyone is given a pair of wings at the beginning. I could be wrong.

such as a stamina bar, or some fatigue.
perhaps it will use magic power, even..
but this is just a guess.

im thinking its gonna be free for all flying, u can get up and fly where ever but i think like in wow there will be no fly zones... like towns/instances etc

From what they've said so far: Freeflight, once you get your wings.

I don't think we've heard much about restrictions so far. Remember though, if the world is built around the concept of flight we don't need to worry about ruining content, as it will be built with that type of thing in mind.

Oh, and last I heard there would be a quest somewhere early in the game to get your wings. I kind of got the feel that it would be that last portion of the "tutorial section" of the game.

Could be because i read up on the game for 2 hours at my friends house and i read these forums for 30 minutes and didn't find an exact answer (although i found some info abuot it being tracked) so i decided to ask and see if anybody had any hard proof, i only got to your post and i'm replying now so if somebody posted proof later on, so be it, but yah.......u got some kinda power complex, kinda rude to just try to start flames like dat bub w/o knowing what i did/went through before posting =D

To be honest, i'm kinda tired of games limiting the highlight of the game...

If the game is cool enough to add the flight with wings, why would they bother limiting it? it seems so....bleh....like telling you there is neopolatin ice cream in ur freezer but u can only have one scoop ever other 5 days and you can't eat strawberry till last o.O

If ur gonna include something so amazing as flying, flying combat, and other in air stuff...why hold back the throttle on such an amazing concept?

If you still dont think there Free Flight then i'm sorry. Mark said it many times to there is free flight they havent said anything more. Even on there site it say Free Flight and alot of ther stuff
