Does anyone know wether Aion will be all Vista or will people who still don't trust microsoft giong to be able to play on a previous OS.

I think what is being asked is will the game work on 2000 and XP. Which is, yes, it will work on 2000 and XP. Only a fool would develop games compatible only with Vista and DirectX 10 this early on.

age of conan will run on dx9, but is being optimized for dx10.

i'm not sure if crysis will run on dx9 or not... most likely will, but if not i wouldn't be surprised. it's being built specifically for high-end machines.

Yes i believe Crysis is compatible with dx9 but is just better on dx10. The only reason i'll go to vista is that.

In either case, I am sure vista will go the same way as xp. At first xp was buggy and nasty and no one wanted it. after about 6months or so of working on it and eveyrone having to install it on new computers it got more popular and now most people use it. I dont like vista at all right now, with all the crazy stuff going on, but in a bit, with some patches and forced use on new comps, im sure vista will be pretty common. But i also agree with tysis in saying that they would probably loose a good chunk of $ making it vista only.

All XP games can run in Vista. Some suffer performance losses. Crysis will run on DX9 hardware, as will AoC. Aion is built on a DX9 engine, so it should run perfectly in XP and Vista too.

That's a realify cause Vista seems to have a worse track record then XP had way back when. Besides I'm not rich enough to own a Dx10 video card so it wouldn't matter anyway.

Dunno why anyone would want vista right now for gaming.... benchmarks show lower scores than XP professional while running many games.... and there is still a lot of compatability issues

I believe you can run dx 10 with dx 9 hardware but not with dx 9 software,
since xp would never have dx10 you'll need to upgrade to vista.

allmost all of the new pc games are develloped for DX10 and vista becouse microsoft is the most known OS.

though it could be posseble it will be dx 9 i think the odds of that are very small! ( talking about: 1% )

and koji, try to play a dx 9c game with dx 8 installed on ur computer

They folk here have got it right, Aion uses the CryEngine 1.x and is therefore will be compatible with DX9 and DX10.
