What is an extendable weapon?

Extendable weapons are for melee'ers in AION, they function the same as a normal weapon does, but they extend (Shock horror) which means they have twice the range of normal weapons. Since melee classes can have a problem with kiting, a lot of people opt for extendable weapons (Even over Abyss weapons) to help prevent it. Every melee class can get extendable weapons; Clerics, Chanters, Gladiators, Templars and Assassins.








How do you get these weapons?

Some places it's unknown where you get certain weapons from (1.5 added quite a few new weapons in), mainly they are from drops off world bosses, or in dungeons such as Fire Temple, but some may also be crafted.

How do you know if a weapon is extendable without equiping it and trying it out? Don't see anything on the tooltips or even on Aionsource to signify that its extendable~

usually u can tell by teh weapon looks, it seems like in its design it has places when it brakes in order for it to extend

Hopefully they add more. I don't wanna wait till 50 for a 2h extend able greatsword. Prob won't really need a 1h weapon for templars sense you usually chase down casters with a 2h weapon.

It turns out that the new extendable weapons in-game are actually from crafting. (I think)

...Because we all know that it takes immense skill to hit a melee class 3 or 5 times with a ranged weapon and then kite them and watch them die. It's also insanely skillful to snipe a healer class and then act like you've taken on the Spartans at Thermopylae.

On a serious note though. At least there is FINALLY a pvp game where range and nukers aren't so stupidly overpowered that it's just best to stand there in PVP just to get it over sooner. That's what I am loving so much about Aion is the balance in PVP. In almost any class vs class battle either class has a shot at winning and it REALLY does come down to skill.

You are missing a couple staves. There was 2 before the 1.5 patch.

Extendable dagger doesnt make sense,daggers are supposed to be upclose and personal, quick and efficient i just dont see how an expendable weapon an be quick.

Do expendable weapons have different attack speeds then their normal counter part?
