Question Dual Wield mechanics

Hi all, had a couple questions about dual wielding in Aion. Was considering a dual wield Gladiator.

1) How does the offhand work? Does it always swing, is there a chance for it to swing, etc?

2) any other important things to note about this mechanic, or inherent bonuses (or penalties) associated with it?

Thanks!

I just started dual wielding when I got my 3rd stigma slot, but so far from my knowledge, both weapons do swing. However, I have noticed that 1 weapon may hit and the other may miss (The only time this has ever happened for me is when a monster has inflicted me with some kind of blindness effect).

I'm not really sure on the exact mechanics but I think they take the speed from main hands weapon and the power from the strongest weapon, but i'm not really sure to tell you the truth. And for crit rate, only the crit rate of the main hand counts (manastones in the offhand count as well but not it's base crit rate).

A crit-rate on a weapon counts for the weapon it is on, but they do not apply to the other, if I recall.

If both weapons have different a.spd then the one with the highest a.spd is the one that takes effect. no more stacking

Actually, I don't think that's the case, either.
A dagger has 1.2 att. speed, and a mace has 1.5, right?
Well, somhow my total att. speed is 1.6. O_o

he's talking about a stat called +attack speed %, you are talking about base attack speed of weps.

I think crit rate on main hand counts for normal attack crit rate, and offhand counts for skill crit rate, but it might be the other way around.

Duals arent that bad, better than greatsword, you lose the AoE's but they attack a lot faster so you are always getting the attacks in without delays.

So, if I'm understanding what you're saying, dualies lose the ability to use the AoE attacks that KB? So in a group of enemies, I can only KB one of them?

After seeing Dual wield glad, I might be reconsidering my choice of Ranger class...

the 2h weapon for gladiator seemed clunky in all of the videos I saw...

Is dual wield a viable option? or is it one of those not-so-good options?

I was wondering about this if we could easily swap between dual wield and a 2hander as needed. I love both dual wield and have an unexplained affection for spears as well haha.

I know most folks say 2hand is the way to go for PvP....but I would think with the right build/gear/etc that a dual wield could be pretty nasty as well. Or swap between them depending on the situation.

Yes you can i dont remember what key it was but you can switch from pole to dual wield with a button on keyboard or there is a button right by your mini map

I use my pole for AoE and then switch to duel wield for crits since its higher and faster attk AoE are good when sins go into stealth mode since you really cant see them get close to them and use your AoE and you will hit them before they hit you and since its a chain AoE you hit them for # amount then switch to duel wield for fast and higher crit
