I love Bahamut's ideas too, but I have to agree with Frein here, in saying that Aion is not built for that. I think its Warhammer that is focusing on a style of pvp along the same lines as what Bahamut was talking about. I remember reading about how you cant just "run through" other characters, and placement in parties would be a focus of pvp and pve. (For the record I think Warhammer is a poopy game :P )
I would love to see your idea in action... but not for a game like Aion =\
I mean we have wings! Fly around their group ftw!

*edit* I wanted to make what I thought a little more clear. What I mean is I would prefer the traditional pvp style for Aion, and to see those great ideas put into something else who had that in mind since the begining.

Well, sure. Gladiators evolve from the same basic class, so they probably have some common abilities. Also, we'll want some options as templars alone probably can't satisfy the need for tanks. Think in WoW terms: Even the most offensive oriented arms or fury spec warriors can just swap gear, pull out their shields and tank. They won't rival protection spec warriors for tanking but they can get the job done when the absolute best is not required.

From past experiences it just depends on the activities and the party your with. I would think a temp would be ok in some situations, but tanks are there for a reason. I am looking forward to playing one on here.

i personally would have to agree. The field pvp battles around the castles will be epic and immense, so when push comes to shove, if a gladiator doesn't have a healer, he will be down for the count. There are lots of characters with abilities that stun or slow down, which what i've seen on youtube videos, gladiators lack.

. If only. Thing is even though a gladiator wouldnt last as long in the battle as a templar would due to the templar having a more solid defense, the damage output is aparently different. YET, on youtube vids. the templar is ALOT quicker with its strikes stacking damage. Comparable to the speed of a Fury WOW warrior. Pretty much if your going melee class, its going to be player preference. and with stigma involved, we can see alot of intresting builds be put out there. Personally i may go gladiator with some ranger skills, or heal skills. Mind you Stigma is only avaliable after level 20.

I'm not too sure on current skills or abilities, but it is very possible the Warrior's would have anti snare/stun/slowing abilities/skills such as Berzerk or whatnot. We will see.

i don't see them implementing the same mob ai as guildwars... because that made tanking just insane. I'm thinking they're leaning towards WoW mob threat system.. but thats just from forum lurking, so i'd look it up a little more if i were you. i'm just too lazy to do it for you :P

Well for all those guys who have played l2 or still play it (sorry i hate comparing other games) the imperial crusader set which is an armour set for players in endgame lvl , it would give the player who wears this set a 70 %resistance to stun and debuff skills. Meaby armors or items like that exist also in aion

I don't like that design. Why does my victory have to depend on a random numbers generator? I hate everything with a random chance to do X if X is at all significant.

lol where is the random chance ? if a guy has a x% chance to stun you with that type of armor he has a x% - the 70% of x%

Most things on rpgs are calculated with chance- dmg u do, drops form mobs etc..
