Gladiator vs Assasin

Well after reading a thread made by our fellow member Lumpo where he said (after watching a video of a pvp between i think a gladiator and an assasin) that the gladiator or a templar cant defeat a butterknife wielding assasin.

So proud members of the gladiators social club (otium) what do you think or what do you believe can we or can we not defeat those butterknife wielding assasins ?

So enough with jocking,what i mean is do you think that we gladiators can withstand the critical damage done by assasins and their sneacky tactics ?

bahamutkaiser the only reason i wrote think is because we or at least i dont have data avaiable to give a precise answers to this and afterall this thread is for discussion so if we had all data avaiable this thread would not result in any kind of discussion.btw what do you think ?

From what I've heard, Assassins are currently quite overpowered. I'd imagine that there will be balancing done to the classes prior to release. And if not, right after.

If they're balanced, then the better skilled and/or geared player will win.

All depends on the armor pluses and what's in the weapons slots and level, naturally gladiators will have bonuses for damage, remember assassins have spike damage, so we have to get in do enough damage quickly and get out or kill you before you can kill us.

yes assasins do spike dmg but i dont think it will be much fun when a gladiator gets spiked by an assasin...casters is fine i guess but glads shud not die in a few hits from an assasin.

i agree with all of you my but i believe the gladiator will win , how can a butterknife wielding assasin compete against a long sword ( oh i feel it there is a conspiracy being created,ups sorry you poor assasins )

I think it will heavily depend on how well the add defensive counters and reeling attacks onto Gladiators skills. If the Assassin can do more damage in spurts, and outmaneuver him he's going to win, but if the Gladiator can counteract his spikes with counteractive attack skills, and stifle his maneuverability with stunning and knockdown attacks, it would be fairly balanced.

not totally true.. the balance is not always for HP and skilled, but for the effect in lvling, party and so on.. assassins will be easy 2 kill if they don't know how 2 play an assassin, they r usually hard 2 play and skilled , but they can become great pkers and feared as hell in dueling with any class. I personally enjoy assassin way and u can't imagine how is 2 be called noob by a noob tanker who dies without even have the chance 2 hit me :P

Overpowered? Everything I've heard from my buddies who played CBT2 is that Assassins are currently underpowered, and struggle in both PvP and PvE and that changes are being looked at for their class especially come CBT3 and OB for Korea..Will be interesting I guess to see what happens. They should be good though, most Assassin classes in games excel in PvP and struggle in PvE in the long run (Endgame and such)

Since Gladiators can also deal out heavy damage, and have better gear, I think they'll be evenly matched. It might depend on how fast the gladiator counters the assassin after he pops out of stealth though.

did the sin's get nerfed on there stun amount ?? btw i agree sin's will be very hard to master and lvl. The skilled one's will get my respect, the rest will get the business end of my weapon.
