Lv50 Glad whos willing to read/answer your posts

Just as title says, if you got any questions let me know.
Some info:


I run with a core group, and was like the 4-5th Lv50 on my server.

The Group was: Cleric, Chanter, Assasin, Sorcerer, Sorcerer/random person sometimes, Glad (me)

I ran with this core group from almost lv37ish.

I grinded 47-50 non-stop by killing a lv49 mob 9,539 times and also ran every instance asmo side.

Trying for expert test atm in crafting

Use a polearm, but theorycrafting is going to make me switch to DW for PvE ONLY when I get a good sword/dagger

I may end up asking more things later, but for starters im gonna ask one i know we've all been waiting to hear.

So, does it indeed actually get better for us at 50?

I keep hearing people ask this question and I just don't get it. The game started getting really good for me (as in my performance started to seem strong in relation to everyone else...the game has actually been fin since level 1) some time in the late 30's.

As I am sure you know, gladiators are very very equpment dependant.
Thankfully my gear isn't too bad so I easily dps as good as any other class.
My gear is actually better than most templars on my server atm so I actually have more hp and pdef with all crit sockets.
I tank alot. I think the game really got better when I got precision cut and draining blow (from drop, woot!).

Precision makes us become mana dependant (SHOCK!) but deals around 2k~ non crit every 30sec. Draining blow lets us farm pve without downtime (mind you I pop a potion everynow and then... herb treatment is laughable.)

I really started to like gladiators more, and pvp wise its pretty decent. I think it does get better, especially when you get an atk spd weapon, then you start blowing through stuff!

But again, its very kinah-dependant and your gear needs to be really good to be great!

You will start seeing the downsides to being a gladiator around 35+ when other classes start to develop and come into their own. If you don't see a problem then that's great! wait till you see lv50 or at least lv45 then you will be even happier than now!


glads aren't bad, but we are scapegoated a ton il tell you that!
everytime cc is broken i spam macro "stupid glad why you break cc!" even though it wasn't me

Grats on 50 bra, glad to see that you took glad and stuck with it. Seemed like your were second guessing yourself sometimes. Prove all those glad hater nubs wrong!!! And thx for the wing root book :3.

Hi, i was wondering how grinding was leveling upto 50? Is there ALOT of downtime? Did you have to spend alot of money on pots etc? Now you are level 50 do you wish you leveled another charactor or are you happy?

Like I mentioned above, once I had draining blow and about 460ish crit It was very easy to pve.
I would get a knockdown and if I crit get back about 2000HP from draining blow stigma. It most of the time healed up the damage I took in the first place from the mob. Mana started to become a big problem.

I rested about once every 6 hours of grinding because i wasn't critting enough on draining blow or onething or another.
I did use pots, and bought 200 HP and 200 MP pots which cost me about 400k~ ish because I had a friend Express Mail them to my grind spot. I also used food and scrolls everynow and then.


I am a big fan of team devil gladiator video so I really did not have the intention of leveling any other character.
Even if I make an alt for whatever reason it will probably be another gladiator.

Really depends.
I mean I don't really duel, I ambush so I go with movement debuffs like the 2% snare (which is really like 10%) and the 5% movement debuff.

I know alot of people say blind and paralyze, and yes those are excellent if your fighting to the death. But outside of a duel or a tournament I would go with what I mentioned above because with slaughter, you baseball swing a giant polearm of death critting over 1k on people. Really makes most run away after a while.


Fun fact: Helken's Revenge snare godstone is AMAZING because you can knockdown and aerial lockdown will it is activated i.e. it does NOT break on damage like most snares in this game.

Also you can proc it during a knockdown or aerial!

Did you level a Gladiator only because of Team Devil videos? XD

I literally only played aion and played a gladiator to 50 so I can try to get this spear, and because the Team DeViL videos were pretty cool. Otherwise, i prob wouldn't of played at all to be honest.

Right now trying to become an expert weaponsmith is draining up my time.
Even now I am posting because my character is crafting a thousand ingots.

Team Devil motivated me extremely yet.

May i ask, the only thing which interests me for now: How are the criticals and KD rates later with 500 or more physical critical?
Since criticals also give knockdown to the target, i thought the Cleave Chain could become very important.

Edit: I seek for the same Speer, doesnt care if its not extendable^^.
