Boot disk failure, please insert system disk and press enter.

But the system disk doesn't work. Hitting enter brings the message up again.

Help?

Boot up your Windows installation disk and choose repair. See if all your files are still there. If so, it's probably just a matter of fixing the MBR. Could be a disk failure. Could be that the MBR got wiped, either by accident or by a virus. Could be that the BIOS disk access mode was changed (LBA). Could also be that the disk failed. Make sure you don't have a bad floppy disk inserted. I'd boot Knoppix and poke around to see what's up personally, but that's just me. Too tired to post a full explanation. Start with the Windows repair and go from there.

the thing that solves all my problem is format i do it every 6-12 mounts keeps my pc fast.and back up before you go good bye bad dater

Thanks for the advice though! I'll keep it handy next time if it happens again.

Thankfully it seems it was just a minor hickup. I flashed the bios and unplugged my harddrive, then plugged it in again, and everything was fine. ^_^ I KNEW both of them couldn't have possibly died at the same time.
