I have not encountered a bot yet.
I think people are considering bots players who are farming areas a lot faster than they are. I'm on Fregion and I've never seen anyone that knows how to grind properly. I wipe the area back to back and then go loot, if you're in my way I might kill steal.
Yesterday I started a sin, took me 2 hours to get lvl9, pure grinding and no quests. I ended up with considerably less kinah than if I quested. His name is Bronzeberg btw, it was hella fun though. At the rate I was killing everything in comparison to everyone else, I probably "looked" like I was hacking or something. No one seems to take advantage of moving in combat, strafing in circles increases your avoidance considerably, back increase your block and forwards increases attack; USE IT! IT MAKES YOU KILL THINGS FASTER AND YOU HAVE LESS DOWN TIME. I think gladiators should start off with a 2h and or there should be 2h drops in the starting area. Currently every class is better off grinding apart from gladiators. Summary: - If you're as smart as you claim why don't you out smart the simple AI that's troubling you? - Grinding is more beneficial than questing, NCsoft should probably look into that, I don't particularly mind because of movement mechanics they implemented (makes mundane mob mashing fun) - Gladiators are underpowered in starting area Happy flaming ![]() Edit: I am not suggesting "living" with bots, they have very simple programing; it's not very difficult to "out play" them. The slightest of problems can make them redundant. Not that I support bots, but I think players are exaggerating the problems they may cause. Last edited by Blog Monster; 10-23-2009 at 11:14 AM.. |

People shouldn't "learn to live" with bots.
NCSoft needs to hire an actual team to take care of their game. __________________

Blog Monster, I... I definitely see your point.
<whisper> Careful guys... I think he may be one of them </whisper> Now, out of curiosity, you wouldn't happen to know if the robots are planning any sort of an "uprising", would you? Well, getting a bit off topic but let it be known that I've always treated my appliances with the utmost respect and compassion. I even share a bed with my toaster. Just thought I'd share. |

Well, grinding is defined a bit different by alot of people. That is not to say they define it differently than you, but rather alot of people just have different definitions of what a grind is (some of which is simply a matter of how much patience a person has). I'm not sure there is a proper way to grind tho, haha.
Since you stated that you started a new sorcerer, I am assuming your post also includes your main character and that even with your main you havent experienced the botting problems or arent seeing many? If you are mainly stating this post in regards to your sorcerer, then I would agree. I rarely saw any bots in the starting area, as it isnt very beneficial to bot there. Doing quests there or not, its fairly common that within 2 hours you can be level 10 and onto Verteron. I see alot of bots in Verteron and have seen quite a few in Elten as well, but only seen one or two )over making all 8 classes past level 10) in the beginning area of Poeta. Generally, botting is intended to progress for when things slow down and to be done for fairly lengthy periods of time while the user is away, and to bot from 1-10 just isnt very beneficial. Anyways, I am assuming the benefit of the doubt in meaning you havent seen any (or many) on any of your characters. If so, that is good news. Or maybe you just maintain a similar frame of mind I get into from time to time, where I just dont pay attention to others around me much, and I dont notice the botters. Either way, if the botters are not bothering you, then good. Usually they don't bother me much, but the idea of them being there is annoying. Mostly annoying in that they seem to be allowed to keep doing it, rather than knowing those that try will get punished at least. |

Sin is an abbreviation of Assasin
Sorc is an abbreviation for sorcerer If you actually read the OP it says "sin" |
