Yes hello operator? I'd like to report an incident...

From the realms of NCSoft comes a rather... strange video today featuring Tamat & Liv amongst others on the subject of RMT trading. A slight improvement on the Valentines day one in my opinion so be sure to check it out!

One of the guiding principles we have here at NCsoft is that our customers come first. A major challenge that we face in the gaming industry today is the use and abuse of an evil known as real money trading (RMT). We’re in the middle of a war, a war that we fight because of the adverse effects RMT can have on you, our loyal customers.

You see, RMT doesn’t start and stop with a simple transaction. That’s just the beginning. After that first transaction, the same companies that offer Kinah, power-leveling, and preleveled characters continue to do anything and everything they can to use the information that you have given to them to steal, spam, bot, and ultimately destroy your gaming experience and the experience of others.

Because of that, we have a firm stance against the use of RMT, a policy enforced by our good friend, the Banhamminator!



It doesn’t matter what game you play. If you or someone you know is using the services of RMT companies, you run the risk of losing everything you’ve worked so hard for. Worse still, you could be banhamminated.

The more you know, the more you’ll MMO.

Looks like something special is in store for tomorrow (which for those who aren't inebriated yet or just aren't Irish is St. Patrick's Day) on Aion servers. Our friendly CM, Tamat gives us the low down:

Fergus McGreedy has lived an interesting life. His eye for gold and wealth has taken him both near and far. His treasure chests are filled with riches from Elysea and Asmodae... even the Abyss itself. Over the years, Fergus has become a well-known character in Atreia; after all, how could anyone possibly miss a leprechaun dressed in green suit and top hat, lounging around a chest larger than himself?

Unfortunately, Fergus' fame has also resulted in him attracting attention from less pleasant members of Atreian society. Shugo bankers have long sought to get their hands on his riches, but were only recently able to uncover a relevant loophole in the Elyos and Asmodian tax systems. Following this recent revelation, a horde of Shugo tax collectors have started chasing after Fergus, looking to take the wee man's hard-earned Kinah.

Now, Leprechauns have never been particularly fond of people, and under normal circumstances would never give their gold away, but in this rather delicate situation Fergus decided to make an exception: He will give some of his gold away to his fellow leprechauns... but only so he can keep the rest!

Here's where you come in, loyal Daevas. Fergus recently lost his glasses while hiding from a particularly scary Krall tax collector in Poeta, and now spends his days spinning his tales to lampposts, mannequins and empty chairs. He's still desperate to pass on his taxable income though, and rumours abound that Fergus, blind as he is, has been handing out some of his wealth to anyone dressed in green.

If you want to see him and hear of his past adventures, Fergus will be in the Apellbine and Dionysia taverns of Pandaemonium and Sanctum on Wednesday (March 17, 2010), sometime between 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m CDT. Be on your guard, though, and bring your sword; rumours say he has a mysterious ability to bring past memories to life!

You will get some dye to help disguise yourself when you log in to meet with Fergus McGreedy. You will however be able to get the dye through Thursday March 18, 2010, even if you miss him.



So go get your green on and be sure to screenshot it and post it here along with any fun stories that happen along the way!

Well good morning, or afternoon should that be the case, my lovely cherubs and welcome to the new AionSource.

As we mentioned last week the powers that be have decided it's time for us to move from vBulletin to IPBoard. Thus the shiny sparkles that are littering the ground everywhere

Now this change means different things for different people, Joe Blogs will probably go "oh... new skin?" while Chalky is currently hunting me down with an axe trying to find his Mod panel ._. That aside though there are a few changes to the way of life that I'll try to explain to make this change as easy as possible.

We're now utilizing the Curse.com authentication system for logins, those of you new to it will need to follow these instructions if you get stuck:

New to Aionsource? Only have a Curse account?

Sign in using your Curse credentials and follow the on-screen prompts.

Sign in with your Curse information and your Aionsource account will be automatically associated to it.

Please be aware that your Curse and Aionsource account emails must match or the system will simply make a new Aionsource account.

You can update your Curse.com email here, it's essential they match if you want to save yourself some grief.

Don't have a Curse account and need to migrate your Aionsource account?

For most this will go fairly smoothly, hopefully. Simply login with your Aionsource account information and a Curse.com account will automatically be generated for you. If your Aionsource login name is unavailable as a Curse account name you will receive a prompt asking you to choose a new one. This new account name will be used whenever you need to enter your credentials on our site however you will keep your current display name here at Aionsource.



The shiny IPBoard version of Source comes with a few cool little features and the odd thing you may want to change, from improved social features to musical profiles the new site adds some interesting functionality along with the new look.

We're hoping to add new features to the site in the future along with modifying the odd thing here and there should the community request it, by all means if you find something that's broken or doesn't look quite right don't hesitate to tell us. Site Feedback will most likely have a thread up for that purpose when I find a spare minute.

Also for you early birds that are reading this moments after it's posted please don't be alarmed if you suddenly hear someone grumbling in a corner somewhere or forums you've never seen before suddenly pop up. That's more likely than not me running around, hopefully not headless unless Chalky caught me, updating all the forum settings for this sparkly new forum As previously mentioned feel free to let us know if we miss anything!

Be sure to clear your cache prior to reporting any bugs or anomalies to ensure you're running on the latest version of the site, should your browser encounter any issues running the site itself you may wish to ensure you have the latest version. (FF 3.6, IE 8.x, Safari 4.0.5)
