i cant see aion not having a collision system with all the detail they've put into it so far. you can walk through npcs and characters in wow, you cant in L2 from what i saw, and that made moving around town very frustrating because there were people all over the place. we didn't see the player try jumping on anything or trying to walk into a wall, so it's not a fair assessment of whether there is a collision system or not.
interface feels sparse to me. of course, 'm used to a bulkier interface. 'd like to see a few more toolbars personally and a few more little decorative touches that would go well with the game world. course the resolution is rubbish, but it does look very utilitarian from what 'm seeing. I'm hoping you can go through the NPC's too since, as said before, makes traveling through cities and towns a whole bunch easier and less stressful. As for the interface, as long as it's customizable and it's UI mod-friendly I'll be fine.

In real life even if a city is overcrowded doesn't mean you can run through people lol, that's just how it is, so I would prefer that in Aion too. Going through people kinda makes it feel unreal, like they are not objects but rather ghosts hehe. Anyway it's not a big problem, bett Aion will be awesome

![]() I'm just the opposite, I hate the bulky UI's and I'm hoping that if they do make it bulkier they'll allow for extreme customization without any loss of benefits. The worst thing is when you're fighting and the view is blocked by a triple thick UI. I don't play to see a pretty UI, I play to see the whole game and experience it all...and nothing brings you out of that wonderland faster than a big, thick ol' UI staring in your face. The UI is the 'win or miss' item for me in most games. I dropped out of a beta because the UI on the game was so bulky I wanted to bang my head in frustration on the desk. >.< I do agree that it looks rather sparse and has no connection to the game world, probably because it's in the beginning stages, but I hope they follow the CoH or GW guides for the UI's in this game... If they make it bulkier I hope they allow for customization without loss of benefits so that I can stream line it. And if I get into beta and it's a bulky UI...watch out! As for the passing through people...my primary character in any game is healer and in CoH there is nothing more frustrating than being in tight spaces and the little innocent NPC is blocking my view of healing my team, the inability to pass through them is annoying. But I also can appreciate the 'reality' of 'colliding' with people...all in all I don't really care, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other... __________________ ![]() |

In gw you can only walk through npc in towns, outside towns you can't.

Yeah I played the Guild Wars open beta along time ago. There was hardly any collision on anything. I guess they like to prioritize their work. Which is good I'd like to see all the bugs worked out then they can begin on the superficial stuff.
Wow it looks alot like Guild Wars as far as the interface. Which is good the GW interface was very user friendly imo. Last edited by Shesmu; 12-29-2006 at 05:18 PM.. |

I have to agree. GW has the best UI I've ever seen in a MMO. Most Korean UIs are more about style than usefulness, and most American UIs are so cluttered it's scary. DAoC and WoW come to mind. I've watched my buddies play them and I have no idea what button does what, especially in WoW. My friend had half of his screen filled with little tiny squares that he activated all at once. Wtf? What did each do? Are they skills? Are the skills in WoW so poor and/or unoriginal that activating a million at a time gives you no thrill whatsoever? And on DAoC, my friend just repeats the same skills over and over in a loop until whatever he's killing is dead. Wth? Is battle really that repetitive?
So again, GW ftw. Here's to hoping Aion is just as good, if not better. |

i never felt confused with the UI in WoW... perhaps it was because it was my first MMO experience, but i wasn able to just jump right in...
user created mods certainly improved the experience though... __________________
