Sadly you can't play both at the same time, you must choose either one or the other when creating your character. After that you can't make characters of the opposing faction.
Personally I enjoy warm climates, pale skin color and feather wings, so it's Elyos for me I'm looking forward kickin' all ur asses in PvP areas!

You are wrong. You can make a char of the opposing race but not on the same server.

Exampel: If you are an Asmodian in server X you can't make an Elyos on X, but just make the Elyos on server Y.
