So here's a question.

Is that other Balaur standing there in the distance, or standing right next to him for reference to show his true size?

From the perspective effect it looks like if it was a pair of metters behind the main balaur, size references use to be from familiar shapes, por example, if I want to show you a miniature I worked on, Ill put a pencil next to it so you can check how big it is, I wouldnt use another miniature for that. In the L2 artbook, the drawer used human shapes next to mobs to point at the size of those mobs.

But then again, the artist is using plain colors as a distance technique, look at the right arm, it's totally plain, while the minion is monochromatic but with details, hard to say tbh.

I'd bet its about distance, but im not 100% sure.

Guys, that balaur is a boss, look at the bottom right corner, there's a size comparison for the regular Balaur and that Balaur, wow that guy is big, must be hard too!
