Okay, that reminds me; being still new to the PvP aspect (just hit 25 earlier this week), is there anyway to tell what the levels of the opposing PCs are? Even roughly? Everyone I've ever seen has just come up as "??" to me, so I'm assuming they are higher level than me. Do the levels show if you're higher than they are?
The reason i ask is that I've heard that there are penalties if you kill too many opposing PCs of a much lower level than you are (not that it's really an issue with me, I suspect the only way I'd kill someone would be if they fell onto my sword by accident). If you can't tell who's lower level than you are, that would make avoiding that penalty a little tricky, wouldn't it? Or would that only apply in certain regions, and not the game as a whole? __________________ If your posts are routinely shorter than your signature, then something is drastically wrong with one or the other. |

You only get penalties for killing lower level players while rifting and not in the Abyss. If you go to a zone, you generally know what level the zone is, for example 40-43 so you would assume players are that range. |

it was around Hoarfrost fortress in Belusan, which is a lvl 40 area. and they were fighting lvl 40-42 mobs so I can only assume they were around level 40

and you get a penalty for ganking people lower level than you in the rift. the penalty is just a debuff that puts a marker on everyone's map showing where you are and your level / class. Last edited by kyris?; 10-21-2009 at 11:11 AM.. |

Quoted from the same video link in the Warriors section. Not that bad in terms of level difference on the most part.
