There are no videos (at least that I know of) showing flying with glide mode on in areas where chars couldnt fly (except this Sanctum one ofc, but that is why it is a surprise) anyway.
The cbt3 patch notes are also describing the newly implemented glide mode also points out that is an extention of the flying system to help players flying to certain distances without spending their precious 1 minutes.

Flying is only available in areas where there are Aether, a substance required for flying. Without it, you can't even pop up your wings, in any way.

If you could show me vids featuring glide mode in areas where flying is not available, please do so, so I can stop talking nonsense

There was post-cbt videos of Asmodian gank group in the sands of Elthenen. They was jumping off the rocks and gliding for few seconds until hitting the earth.
Glide is also a way to improve survival chances in case of falling off heights in non-flyable areas.
