Also it just feels akward to be pressing wasd, jump, then shooting off skills not to mention to access skills on the top bar you need to press alt + the shortcut for the skill. With point and click I just click where I want to go then I can just focus on the jump shot while running without worrying about movement. I bound alt to a button on my new mouse tho so its alot easier now =) |

This mechanic is awesome! So far, most of what NCSoft does with Aion intrigues and inspires me, and this continues their detailed display of good game development.
This does not put an Insta-Gib in every Rangers hands. It is a roll of the dice where you wager your ability to successfully pull this difficult move off. If you fail to be precisely accurate with your timing your shot will end up taking four times as long to fire because of the time the preceding jump takes. So if you go for it, and fail, you suffer. But if you go for it, and succeed, it gives you a great adversity to work with. This will separate those Rangers who want to lazily rotate through their skills from those who are actually interested and driven to incorporate skill into their play style. This suits the Ranger! Now the likely-to-be-overplayed class will be separated into the "Non-Jump-Shooters" and the "Jump-Shooters". Aka; the "Lazy Rangers" and the "Elite Rangers". I have been practicing this for a few days now and it still baffles me as to how I can pull this shot off every time. I would not call myself skilled at this, but I intend to practice and hope that I can see this in NA release! It saddens me to see so many giving a negative reaction to something that requires skill and concentration to do. How lazy and spoiled can you people get? I pray, as I do with every MMORPG I play, that the mouthy minority's complaints and poor opinions aren't heeded by the development team of a good game. |

I really hope that they "fix" it before the geme get released in EU/NA.

I'm confused....what *exactly* does this let you do? If it allows you to pull off a combo in midair I'm certain this will be fixed if not then I see some massive complaints being made about it because that's pretty overpowered no matter how hard it is to do.
Now it's a different story if you could only pull off 2 or *maybe* 3 skills in midair, and if every class could do it. |

When I first heard the term Jumpshot I assumed it referred to when you had autoattack (or autoshoot) on, and during kiting when you'd Jump-Turn-Jump(back to original heading) in order to get a regular shot off while not losing any speed or time. Come to find THIS is what it is!
I tried it for a while and was kind of frustrated, I kept moving after the jump so it would never go off. While continually moving before & after the jump I basically got 2 shots off out of 100. Come to find... THE TRICK! It seems you've gotta pause for that brief milisecond after landing, where your character kinda bounces and regains his footing - THAT'S when the Jumpshot goes off. I practiced it for a while and have it down pretty well, seems cool! I was thoroughly wondering if this could be removed with a patch, or "fixed".. But honestly, if this has been going on on the Korean servers and wasn't removed with 1.5, I've got a feeling it's here to stay (being that it can hurt you if you do it wrong). And it is quite possible to do it wrong/get jumbled up with autoshots even after you've got it down. All in all I think it's pretty cool and unique idea. I tried dueling a Sorcerer (level 10 vs. level 10) using it, and got nowhere - he beat me with about half his health left. I'm convinced this will pay off later on too. I heard someone say in the Ranger channel that "the devs look at this as a skill". If that's true (and it makes sense that they would see it that way)... awesome! |
