Joking! The 'far far away' part was cliched. How about, 'In a distant time and a far more distant place', or 'In a land unknown by many' or 'In a place and time forgotten by all but the lorekeepers'.

Lovely, but you could have had a little help with the writing.

I would have done, perhaps.

"Once upon a time
In a land now lost in the mists of legend...
lived a shadow of a man
A shell of man, lonely and lost...
Forgotten by his loved ones
Whom he had vowed to protect
He alone remembered his past
To everyone else, he was an ephemeral shadow
Secretly feared and rarely pitied
But then one day
His old and wizened master beckoned
Against all hope, he wasn't sent to die
But rather to find the fabled 'Breath of Life'
The shadow did not understand the purpose of such a task
and felt betrayed and enraged
That very night he set forth
Through the cold and dark night
and made it to his first destination a short time later
'Verdugo's Secret'
After several arduous days
he realized no one there could aide him.
Recalling an old legend of ghosts and undead...
he set off to The Mount of Lost Souls
Where he hoped to find the answers he so desperately sought
Though the journey was dangerous and trying
he sped towards a nameless village
It required all of his skill and knowledge to make his way
In the end
Accompanied by ominous clouds and thunder
he arrived unscathed (Even though it was dangerous?)
By speaking with a foreign elder, he learned little
The Elder had never heard of the artifact
known as "Breath of Life'
A faint memory, had he
of a woman who worked with curious scrolls
So the shadow traveled on to Elysium, the heart of the Elyos nation
However, his chances of finding one woman such a vast city were negligible.
After countless days of fruitless wandering...
only a flight stood between him and the city.
And standing before the might of the Elyos capital
even the shadow had to admit he felt pride for his people's achievements.
As much as he despised his own existence...
...for one brief moment...
...he was free.
Passing the gates of the Elysian devotional...
....for a few moments he forgot his past.
Now, with renewed vigor he went looking for someone who would know the woman he sought.
Maybe a saint or cleric.
Alas, his tremulous hopes and thoughts...
...were shattered in just one breath.
Elysium, impressive in it's grandeur it may be, was enormous!
Countless streets and alleys crossed into an intermingled mess...
...any of which could lead him to the woman.
"Where...", he asked the wind
"..shall I start?"
TO BE CONTINUED.


At least, that's how I would have done it.
If you like how I write and you want some help smoothing out the language in the second one let me know!

Hehe no I am Elyos too, but just for your info I am not shown in this video ^^

Episode I because there will be a an Episode II and maybe III.

Regarding the english translation... well the video from my wife is in German actually and since English is not my native language, it was already very hard to translate "poem style German" into english for me. So thanks for your translation, maybe we can update the movie with it. And next time you will get the text beforehand so you can translate ^^

cool vid but i saw something like a cliche in your vids and that is when the char gets his/her quest neither one wants the quest and they both do the emote when they leave the room.... and i think it would help if you shorten the story a bit, i got bored at minute 3... but this is just me so...

@LaSirene: Hello again, we just went through your translation, and my wife wants to thank you a lot for taking the time to make a proper english translation. However the problem is that since you don't know the original german version, the meaning of your translations doesnt fit anymore.

With every further translation the original meaning gets lost a bit more. And thats the main problem, so even if our translation isn't maybe in "proper english" but it tries to stay true to the original

Here an example:
"Forgotten by his loved ones" <- In the original it should mean "he was left alone by his loved ones (they died) - he was not forgotten"

I hope you got what we mean. However if you want you can try to work out a better translation together with my wife. Just send me a pm then

It always bugs me when I see a video made as well as this only to be spoilt in my eyes by ineffective choice of wording.

Well thats the problem its only a translated version by non native english speakers...

you would need to watch the original in German to get the text correctly... BTW how could you say in english instead of this, but with the same meaning?
