New to Aion, Old to MMO's
Hello all.
Will be starting aion tonight and putting Wow on the back burner for a bit. Got a quick server question though. I live in western canada and would like a server based on MST or PST. What would be a good server that would work for me. Also are the servers different from another or all West or East servers equal other then population? |

Welcome!
The East coast servers are mainly the most populated ones. If you want a PST server, pick one of the servers that say "West" next to them. :3 Since your in western Canada, I think a West server would be good for you. But you can pick whichever one you want. I live in the East Coast, but I play in a West server with my BF. |

Got ya. I figured that.
What about the size of servers? Is bigger better because of the AH? Also are there servers that are more RP servers or are they all pretty much the same? |

Well I got to level 7 last night. Took my time reading quests (ya reading them, something I never did in WOW). sometimes I would just stop to look around and enjoy the sights and sounds. I found people pretty nice and being a priest if I saw someone not buffed I would buff them. Buffed one person and they gave me a decent Mace. One thing though I found that there is no general chat or people just didnt talk in the chat. Maybe this will be different in the city. All in all though even though im just one day in im very please with it. More so then I was with other MMO's starting out. I think im getting in at a good time because by the time im at higher levels there will be more bugs fixed and more content. Every good MMO needs a good base, even if the content starts out not up to a 5 year old game standard, it still needs a good strong base. I think Aion has that and even if it gets bored at some spots, I can still feel better then having things handed to me and that 8 year old who has no clue about mmos.

That WoW client u have in the back burner will come back to haunt you more often the higher level you get in Aion.

I think if for some reason AION does get boring I will be going back to LOTRO or even VG. I do think though that by the time would be getting bored of AION that so much more content and fixes will be there to keep me going. The grind thing does not bother me what so ever. I find running instance all day in WOW for emblems as much of a grind as anything else. Im looking forward though to leveling in AION and like some im a Altaholic so I got a while to go. |

Ya I have level each class now to 10. Only 3 of them I have choose a sub class. I found rangers a bit of a pain to swap the weapons around, but not to bad. I found though that it took a bit to kill something though, but I hear they get better Lev 20+. I choose a SM for my mage class and found it to be ok with some potential, but though abit about level 30+ in instances and what roll I fill and really couldent see myself leveling one in the the long run (kinda kick myself for not going sorc. I'll have to relevel)
As for the priest I went chanter. Played till level 13 last night and had a blast. I love the hybrid play style and felt that I could just keep on going and not even close to being dead at anytime. I think instances with all the buffs will be fun. As for a warrior class im not to sure. I found level to 10 I died a lot, way more then the other classes. So im not sure what is in store for 10+ templar I hear is a real snooze and I have no friends in AION to level with. Glads though seem to look fun, but still not sure. |
