Japan Beta Keys

To you guys in Japan, where did you go to get your beta keys? Any games stores around the Yokohama/Tokyo area selling them? Im not to familiar with Japan quite yet so I dont know where much is =/ and how much did it cost you? Thanks!

They are selling OB Starter Kits in the online store, which will give you some in-game items as well as access to server/character pre-selection, but I don't think it is required to play. Just add Aion to your PlayNC account and you should be able to play on 7/7.

Have a look at this page if you need instructions on how to sign up. If you played CB you still need to perform the step to add Aion to your account, and you will be given a "ticket" for pre-selection.

I am really confused about this game... I live in Japan and I am American so I want to play on the NA servers and I believe I can do that by pre ordering a NA version with a NA beta key... and there has been people confirming there arent IP blocks but then theres other posts that say there is IP blocks!!

If I pre order from gamestop lets say and get a NA version along with the beta key will I still be able to play even though I live in Japan?! If not then that is certainly not fair to whomever may live abroad and not in their home country.

Well, you should be able to play on NA servers from Japan, unless they blocked Japanese IP addresses.
You should contact NA's customer support before buying the game just to make sure.

I guess the way I might be seeing it is if you live in a country where they are not hosting Aion then you will not be able to access any of the other regions servers. But if they do have Aion in your region then maybe you will have access to a region if you pre order a copy from that region (ie I live in Japan (Japan hosts Aion) I pre order from NA (NA hosts Aion), get beta key and access to NA servers)...

Not sure if that made sense at all :P

I think you are SOL on playing on the NA servers. If it works, though, let us know!

Starter kits are as cheap as 1000 yen. I canceled my NA Aion preorder from Amazon U.S. when the beta code they emailed me was region blocked. Thus, I ain't going to take the chance on buying it along with the huge shipping price just to find out it won't work...

Really your beta key was region blocked? And you had the NA region selected on the launcher? Thats not good news

where did you get your starter kit? 1000 yen, that nothing heh :P

what about EU, would we be blocked from their servers as well? I heard some Asian countires that are blocked from NA but not EU.

I bought the starter kit at Bic Camera - but I'm sure any electronic store sells them. The huge displays are everywhere...

BTW how did you register an account on the JP aion website? I visited it but didnt understand anything

Ok I am in the process of making a JP account, Ive gotten everything right so far but I need to spell my last name in Japanese and no translators work...if anyone fluent in Japanese could write it out for me in Japanese ill send ya a PM of my last name...thanks!

Edit: Woot! Finally got through the account set up process thanks to a lot of katakana translations and google translations haha

Yeah, it says its already registered, but you may be trying to do something else (I don't know page you are trying this on)

Also, if you can't understand Japanese, you might want to think about not playing the Japanese beta as you cannot use the english translation patch.

Any news about the region block? i want to play the NA server not the JP server because i cant read Kanji at all. if ever i cant play the NA/EU server i might have to pass on this game.

You can use a proxy to get past the block...look at the post titled "Way Around IP Block"...

It seems for the NA region, they only block IP on the website but not on the servers. So if you use a proxy to register, then you can just play normally.

You can create one character right after installing.
