Realms & Legions

Hey guys, I'm curious about 1 thing regarding forming Legions on forum. Once game is out, there will be lets say.. 10 realms. And if you probably won't know their names. So, how are you going to gather all togehter at one realm? Once you see realm names, argue on forum which realm you should make characters on? Maybe I'm wrong but usually such, err, "Life-time" decisions cause lots of trouble. Some people are like "Uhm, my mate already made char on another server so..cu" or something like this. And there is also a class issue. Even if you have balanced classes in guild, people still mind change their minds while making character like "Eh screw healing, assassin seems more exciting anyway". Might seem stupid but if you combine it all together its like: 24members -2(forgot to confim pre-order) -4(changed server) -2(changed race) -2(letz be sorc) -x(some other reasons)=Eww!

Opsie! Looks like I made it "What will happen if world ends tomorrow?" topic. Basically what I wanted to ask is: "What do you think will happen when it comes to creating legion in game"

Its possible the same server names will be kept from any betas we have. Most guilds will look to join the first server in the list as thats usually the most popular.

Any organized legion will be ready and they will have posts on their own forums with direction to other members to what server they should be on. Its pretty simple if you ask me, if a legion cant get communication right then what are they doing.

My thoughts exactly. Why bother with a legion if you're going to end up playing with your friends anyway. Anyone member that does that is a member the legion doesn't need. Also if you have decided classes for parties and balance, any member that deviates from that isn't dedicated enough and seems pretty fickle to me.

Ventrilo will help Even if members dont own mics of there own, if they just use it to listen to there guild leader everything should go smoothly.

one already runs a great risk with joining a guild that will be "the best" or whatever unless they've been with them in-game - aions not even out yet though, organization and experience is indeed key, though only if they know how to organize it, might as well get the whole guild to play other MMO's to see where they are at and know what they need to do

Pretty simple, before release I or Shiyu or Synn will make a run for level 10 then create the Legion. Then the members can PM under the name I have given on the forums. I'm not picking Cloud or Naruto so I don't think my name will be picked :P

As soon as the Realm information is out, every Legion will most likely start a debate to decide which one they will join. Members' opinions will be heard and possibly, votes casted. As long as people give good reasons for picking a Realm over another, he'll be heard.

About people leaving Legions for other reasons, unfortunately no one can control it. I guess that you have to prove your members that it's not worth to leave the Legion because of something else. Friendly environment and active friendship always helps meanwhile.

If it's like World of Warcraft, where realms just pop up on release with no forewarning, then you could decide it on a numerical value.

Like, for Rohan, I'm likely going to join the middle server, rounding up. That way everyone knows as soon as the game's released that Noble Phantasm's on server 2 if it's out of 3. If there's 6 servers, then we're on server 4.

We'll either be joining the 1st or 2nd server depending on traffic. If server 1 will be too crowded we'll do server 2. Servers 3 and on tend to have low population and blow throughout an MMO's lifespan.

And i think it will be even easier for RP oriented guilds, IF there is an RP server. Heh

With a small realm list its unlikely it would be the L2 style...my guild will be pwning the first one on the list, or the most populated one...ie: Bartz of L2

I was about to make a separate topic, but I will use this one What is the point to make legion (guild?) before even the game release? Karamazi have very valid point I also preffer to group with people I like then to ones met in the forum. Am I going to be screwed if I dont join legion now? Because I am very pesimistc about step that far into the future.

Existing guilds are one thing but guilds made specifically for a game that hasnt even been released yet are silly. I wouldnt worry about joining one now, any guilds that accept people before even playing with them are a joke. If you want to feel special though, like so many other people, you can join one of these forum guilds.

some of these guilds are from other games, when preformed guilds of 50 people planning to no-life and farm their way up start killing epics, winning castles, buying clan halls you can go look for a guild thats gonna have you...I take it you havent started from scratch much in MMO's with pre-organized clans?
