While it doesn't sound like a horrible idea, from all that I have been reading before it doesn't seem like another guild of your own faction could give you that much trouble. Granted they may badmouth you but other than that what can they really do? Later in the game It may be a clever idea though.

The game is RvR. There will be no in game communication across races. The devs are talking about eliminating the nametag above players who are not of your race. The point is moot, because the devs don't want this.

It could be a real problem if the nametags disapear, but as for there being no ingame communication, there are plenty of ways around that. Sure it will take time and coordination through websites and chat servers, but it can be done.

And none of us know for sure what endgame content will really be like, we just have the general idea from what we learned from beta testers and official announcments. And who knows, maybe a year or 2 after launch NCsoft makes an option for the two races unite under one banner to go up against the balaur or something. The fun thing about pre-launch is that we get to speculate on how some things could be.

The will of your people also includes your life of growing up and understanding the conflict between the races, maybe even being alive for the event that started it.

Ofcourse there will always be good people on both sides, but being involved in the story is a lot different than creating an account and having no personal bias

A lot of this depends on game mechanics. Perhaps there are a few rare end-game spawns that are competed for or maybe some resource we both need. We obviously can't "fight" over it because we're on the same side, but we could call up our sister legion and say, "Take x legion out."

In regards to names, I think leaving names out would be a mistake. How will you keep track of who's who? I know that in WoW I have a couple key rivals. We talk on the forums and then kill each other in-game. It's fun, and it would not be possible if I couldn't see their names in-game.

well i do think its a good idea for these reasons
- It helps friends/allies/clans stay together while they wanna play different sides
- It Gives the people who can pull this off the benefits of both sides
- And last but not least, the servers environments would change as certain things happen, why cant one of those changes be a splinter faction of elyos/asmodian who work together?

Thats exactly what I was thinking.
In EQ2 (back in the day) Qeynos and Freeport hated eachother, but you could still be a freeporter in a Qeynos based guild.
My whole problem is if I have an rl friend playing an Asmodian I can never party with them? Thats no good.

these days all good guilds on eq2 pvp servers went to exile, the guards are a joke anyway and ya can get most things exiled
