Reason for creating new legion..?
So...what makes people go and create their own legion despite the fact there are already other PvP, PvE, or RP legions out there for join. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to have few large legions than many smaller legions?
Is it timezone? Theme? Leadership? I personally think officership in guild/legion is really a blow in the ***. (which makes me all the more greatful for those that do take that blow assing job.) Just curious and bored. Opinions, comment, thoughts? Flames? ![]() ![]() |

Didn't you hear? The Clone Guild Wars are coming. A mysterious and unseen force is amassing an army of clone guilds to Attack the Unison.

Everyone wants to be leader when a game starts, then they all get to lvl5 and quit the game and fall apart. Usually started by people who are new to mmos so they havent seen it happen before.

Timezone, theme, leadership - yes, yes, and yes, and more. Lots of factors can influence people. There's also playstyle, environment, goals, history, organization, size, and of course which server you play on. That factor alone will divide the guilds on these forums so I don't think we have too many.
I think a few/couple large legions are ok, but I wouldn't want them to be the only legions on the server - give me the many smaller legions too. Each type has their own pros and cons. The game/pvp may get stale if there's only a handful of large legions present whereas if there are only small legions, some of the game's exceptionally large content may not be experienced. In the end it's going to boil down to what people want - some people simply like being in large/small guilds. There's a dynamic there as well that really helps keep things interesting and is mostly why I prefer both. |

Some do it because they are rejected by every other guild that exists because they suck so they start their own.

I agree, most new players to MMO's get rejected from higher lv guilds or just want to make one to see what it's like but they don't know how much work has to go in to run a guild so they crash and burn ..

Everyone wants to be pro and the owner of their own legion. I goto school so I do not, and a top guild leader has to be as active like the game is a full time job...I am still pretty active and am a co-leader. 90% of the guilds here aer "experienced, hardcore pvpers" who will probably get into the game and not know anyone from their guild.

Hmm... Celechu... I'm quite sure NP will catch you with a pokeball considering how you 'belong' to various owners named Kat, Katt and Lunais.

It can be quite hard sometimes to find a fitting group. It's easy to find one that has one or two things you like, but difficult to find one that doesn't have the same number of things you dislike.
For example, in my history of looking for a guild for me, I have come across factors that just put me off like: - too many rules - too much focus on PvP/Hardcore PvE - too many badly masked rip-off characters on the roster - too restrictive a theme and so on. Most of these guilds sounded awesome otherwise... but I play MMOs to have a good time and nothing but a good time. There is no reason to put up with something that would give me a bad time. So what do I do when I want to take advantage of guild functions (Guild Chat, Capes, the display of an additional title under the name etc.)? I make my own. |

1) The player wants to create a guild with people he/she has known, trusted, and grown accustom to playing beside for an extended period of time. 2) The player is not satisfied with the current selection of legions and feels the need to create a guild that would reflect his/her standards. 3) The player may have an already established guild in another game, but not all of his members can afford to pay to play a game so the leader is now forced to recruit new members from Aion related forums. I don’t see what the problem would be if everyone wanted to make his or her own legion as long as everyone is enjoying the game in his or her own way. I personally don’t see why so many legions are already recruiting members to their legions for a game that has not even been released yet. I personally would rather wait to create my legion once the game has been released and add members based on proven qualifications. I would also hate to join a legion now only to realize that the legion master is a complete strategic moron once the game has been released. Once the game is out you will see the number of legions increase greatly and I personally like having a huge pool to select from. The bigger picture could be broken down this way, the faction you pick is like the United States and the Legion you choose are like it’s states. You may have many states, but you are still apart of one massive country. |
