Aion Gender: Female Mages?

Seems like the genders for most classes are fairly split down the middle...

That said - it seems like Mages have a HUGE showing for female avatars.

I can only assume this is due to male Mages don't look good in the armor/robes?

Not sure if its just me - but every Mage I see has a female avatar so I was curious why this is...

Im including a poll - just to see the results. Forgive me if this has been posted before I didn't find any such thread from the search.

I've never been into the whole "I'm a guy and I play a female character" thing.

For me, there is a bit of a disconnect between myself and the character then.
But you know, I'm just one of those "crazies" that cares about immersion.

I think some of the armour looks better on females but some is a bit revealing I have to say, one high level is like a bink babydoll outfit..... but I guess thats the Japense side of the game comming out.

Thats basically what I was wondering - how you guys like the robes on male chars...

Just noticed (such as in the "show your sorcerer/SM" threads) that most ppl seem to play a female avatar. Was curious what the community actually thought

I used to play male characters in MMOs, but I got bored one day and decided to mess around and make a female toon in WAR. Needless to say, the character and my whole thought around her stuck and she will be carrying over to Aion. While part is not wanting to stare at a guy's behind for 6-12 hours, I feel a connection with this toon from WAR. Kinda makes me laugh a little and distracts me from the rigors of the grind of human life. Plus pwning big hulking men with a little girl is humorous in and of itself.

All my toons are male because I prefer the looks, or rather, dont like the looks of female toons. So my mage alt will be male.

Indeed most people will make female avatars for the Mage classe, same goes for assasin (bit less). Other more "manly" classes like Gladiator will be more male-populated, but who doesn't like looking at a hot girl in plate armor ?

I have to agree... this seems to make the most sense, but Im sure males in robes has "something" to do with it

the reason im making my sorcerer female is cause the armor looks better
i had originally planned to make a male but after seeing armor screens i chose otherwise

I entirely agree with you there, Azryu. It bothers me a good deal when you have lots of female characters running around being controlled by teenage boys. This is a generalization, of course, but in my experience it seems to be accurate.

I like to keep my char the same gender as me even if they do wear "robes" or tunics.

Agreed its quite creepy most of the time i think there homo or just plan weird.
