Spellbook auto-attack is a useful mana-saver in PvE beyond low levels. It's great for finishing off mobs, when casting a spell would be a waste of time and mana.

Get to 10, learn alchemy, gather until you can collect kandula, make mana pots, and your good to go. Also use your mana regen spells as soon as they arnt in CD to keep the mana up, you usually use it right after killing a mob, ul be fine =p i never run out of mana, only in crazy mob situations where i cant stop to use mana regen spells.

If you're using an orb, get the spellbook. The auto-attack at lower levels helps a LOT, and uses no mana.
