You can also buy food that increase your natural mana reg for 200 kinah for a 15 min buff at first town - Also mana potions will help
Note - be careful with manapots - they are addictive __________________ <> Society of Fallen Angels <>

Lead with Ice Chain with an immediate cast of Frozen Shock, and then Erosion. This buys you a lot of time before the target gets close enough to you to effect you (except for the few ranged opponents you find here and there). Then Fire Bolt followed by Blaze, and most mobs are gone. You might take a few hits while you cast another Ice Chain or Fire Bolt to finish them off, but that is why you keep Stone Skin turned on. At lvl9 you get Absorb Energy which helps you recover a little Mana, and once you Ascend you get Mana Treatment which helps a lot in the down time between mobs. But my friend, as a Caster we drink Mana like a frat boy guzzles beer. Your best friend in the whole wide world will be mana potions and foods that help you regain mana faster. The Blue color is mana, and they appear as drops and you can buy them at the general goods guys at the main starter towns where ther trainers are. Player Alchemists can make them and they like to sell them on the Broker when you Ascend, so check the Broker often. You dont have to become an alchemist, just make friends with one. Offer to collect and sell Aspha/Aria and Targena/Kandula to your new Alchemist friend for a nice price like $10 each ($100 for 10); ok maybe $20 each for the Fresh varietes. Aria/Aspha is used for health potions. Targena/Kandula is used for Mana potions. I am willing to bet that if you collected those materials for an Alchemist friend, they wuold not only pay you that price but give you Mana and Health potions for a greatly reduced price. Mana potions come in 2 varieties. One replenish-over-time and one is replenish-instant the rot actually gives you more mana overall than the ri, but when you need to get back in the game you dont want to wait and the ri works great. |

It gets a lot better as you level; however, I know where you are coming from. In closed beta I hated the sorcerer until I hit level 16. Coming into release I knew what to expect so I just focused on things I knew ahead of time to kill and do and used a lot of pots.
At level 13 you get Earth Robe, it will help a fair amount. Always try to keep food on you that gives mana regen, it helps a lot and noticeably so at level 30+. At level 20 you get your first stigma which is a 15 sec use 1/2 mana per cast on a 30 second cool down. Basically with this, food, robe and the occassional pot and absorb energy, you almost never run out. But the Mages biggest bane while leveling is keeping track of your mana and the mana recovery skills. You will eventually get fire robe and frost robe. These are great for certain situations, but when leveling I always keep earth robe up - doesnt matter if I hit for an extra 80+ with fire robe if I have to sit because I am OOM. |

It's amazing how many low level mages over look Ice Chain and spellbook auto-attack. It's useless later, but it's pretty simple at low levels.

Try socketing MP +30s to your gear. I am a lvl 19 Spiritmaster, and I hardly ever run out of mana...i think my max is somewhere around 2300. I played a balance druid in WoW and constantly ran out of mana. It seems to me that Aion is way more mana efficient.

I suggested the stationary approach because this appears to be someone not familar enough with pots and foods to perhaps have a good grasp on the class yet. Moving means you increase the potential of getting aggro on a new mob, and as you know lvl 7 mages and for that matter even higher lvls dont fare well against multiple attackers. This is a "walk before you run" thing, or more precisely learn to fight and manage your mana while standing still first, then start moving and kiting.
