The update is sexy. Defiantly an improvement from the first.

Now try getting ride of the flourishes, take some of the shield reflections away and make it less crystal like, add a soft metallic pattern like a grainy one in soft light (you have to make it gray so it doesnt change your background color), that way it will gain that shield like texture, try getting the shield a bit darker, it should make the blending with the wings better, try the shield in grayscale also, maybe even black with some small dark gray details as bright, shields aren't that reflective, the difference of the shadow with the bright in those textures isnt too big. Put some kind of blending mode in the letters so they get the shadows of the shield, and try to use some serif typography for the "gaming", make it completely horizontal, right now is breaking your composition a bit, and get ride of the dot, it aint necessary.

I think these steps should improve your image heavily.

Oh, if you really want to use flourishes, try integrating them with the shield's border, so it doesnt mess with the logo, but would be a cool detail.

well, Im not big fan of the shadow, I tend to like outer glow better, and way softer than that, the shadow is too intensive for me.

Wings aren't blending properly with the shield, even if you want them to be different, I would probably go and try to make them as a background watermark or making them part of the shield. If you're vectorizing everything, put a bit more of effort and vectorize the wings too :P

You're mixing many styles again and it's quite chaotic, the flourishes don't fit with the whole picture, and they become more of a problem cause they are just covering part of those wings, making its shape hard to difference.

The gradient you're aplying in the letters...I don't dig that, i'd try with 2 colors, none of them black or white, but a intense one at the top (closer to the left top corner in the photoshop palette) and a bit darker one for the bottom, try it like that.

One thing you have to consider is that soft changes are always easier in the eye, use the color difference only whenever you want to trully make a difference between the shapes, remember my tshirt design? I used a pinkish for contrast cause I really wanted that to stand out, I used shadows of brown for the rest cause I wanted to make that part easier in the eye.

fable I've heard of but only a little, never tried it. the trailer gave me a Zelda feeling so that's good XD. Halo I've heard of - of course, have not tried it though and my friends aren't much into games (sadly) so I got no one to ninja-try games from. Always seen Halo as a sci-fi version of CS, I could be wrong though!

haha really? personally its my when-you're-bored-and-feel-like-writing-some-jibberish blog, just got it up though so there's not much to read :P since you wrote <3 xbox I assume you got the console, any other games then lost odyssey and ff13 that's worth looking into?

The legion tag is awesome. I think you should move the crest down just a little bit. That is the only thing I think could change. Other than that its great.
