No, not one of those popular kids.

To be fair, I went to Winter Formal, and based off of my experiences on Winter Formal, decided not to go to prom.

I think my exact words to him were along the lines of "It'll cost you around $200 ( tickets, corsage, suit, transportation, after prom events ) so I guess prom is worth it only if you consummate, ala American Pie. So think of it as your first prostitute."

WTF CELESTIN IS NOT MESSED UP. I am very well adjusted and am plenty popular enough. Whatever could make you doubt that for a second!? Kismet! Where are you!? I need you to defend my slightly wounded pride.

But seriously, how is a future where you jump off a tall building better than a couple of moments of discomfort / lack of enthusiasm leading into a potentially better future? Trust Celestin on this one, university is something you don't want to miss out on. You will level up, increase your base stats, acquire new skills, leave with a new perspective on life and likely find yourself in debt. Also, you'll feel compelled to send your children to college which will likely negate a significant amount of the additional income a degree will earn you. But, my friend, progress has but one direction and that is forward. Forward, ever forward, and that is the direction uni will send you on.

No more edits. Feel free to reply. Have work anyway.

Am I evil? My little brother just asked me if he should go to prom. I gave him the pros and cons, told him it generally wasn't worth it, by the time he's two years into college most people in serious majors laugh at prom...

Oh and that he should think of it as his first prostitute.

Polearms are more satisfying than dual wield

Especially if they are all Asian about the polearms and have those fancy stances and whatnot e.g. Ether Saga.

Understood about the life sucks part. Go back to college already :P

hehe alrighty. Yeah there are people trying to work on an Aion emulator atm, and yes projectXI has made some pretty big progress so far. I think the biggest issues at the moment is AI movement, but people are coming up with some decent methods. There was a recent thread on their forums showing how they've progressed with the damage calculations and skills.

I noticed last night that I was still able to log onto the Chinese servers. I don't know if we got some free hours or not, but that was a nice little surprise to me. :P I also noticed all my screenies suck. ^^

Scouts are rather weak and hard to level at lower levels, so I can really imagine that...

Party play was fun, but quite difficult! I really needed to do my utmost best to not get aggro, and still sometimes it was inevitable because else someone that couldn't be missed would die... My best run was with a sorceror that had in addition to the Sleep cc every sorceror has also a stigma that can turn people and mobs into trees, and we managed pretty well with that, but I think it was rather difficult for the sorceror to keep track of when she had to recast those spells, and still dps.

I'm thinking of playing the chinese retail too, to be really honest... ._. And I made an asmo character and I don't dislike her at all. I still prefer the elyos for some reason... But asmos are nice too! And I really love the mane.

    XD

Well she was apparently bi-polar and had ADHD from what she said. So she started going on some rant over something that happened, and it was such pointless drama. I had nothing against her though, and still wanted to stay in touch, but I guess she didn't afterwards since she never sent me any messages after that. :P

FFXI was pretty damn bad at drama too. So much I hate about the game, yet so much I love as well. I'll probably spend the rest of my life playing the game once projectXI is finished hehe.

    My screenies suck too. It wasn't until the last day I played that I found how out to hide the UI. >.>;

waaah! *gets blown back from your screaming*

It was nice. :P Although with most games it got a bit repetitive after some time. I'll agree the snow area for the Asmos was incredible. It may have been my favourite spot.

I miss playing it a bit too, but I'm kinda glad to take a small break cause the person I met that I played with for 3-4 days kinda went crazy on me just before beta ended. Kinda made things awkward haha..

    Btw you got any screenies?

I'm quite tempted as well. If you do let me know, maybe I'll join ya. I didn't like how Elyos ran either. It looked a bit goofy, but I did like the Asmo running animations for male.

The black wings were nice too. I'm not that fond of Elyos wings, but i enjoyed their environment just a tad more. Asmo areas are still beautiful though. So hard to choose. x.x

But yeah if you do decide to play let me know. ^^ I bet you'd like a Chanter stalking ya with buffs. ;D Unless you already have a Chanter friend that'll be joining ya. Then screw you.

Well, because of my bored friends who were yelling at me at skype that every MMO in this world is ****ing boring (although I agree with them - after having tested around twenty including WAR) and they suck at DotA, we're back to FFXI (which is the only MMO one of them liked... including me). lol

I played as a Chanter and Spiritmaster. I wasn't too find of Spiritmaster at lower levels. They seemed so weak, but Chanter was really fun. I'll probably stick with it on retail. I still can't decide what side to play as. I like Elyos, but most of my friends like Asmo.. I thought the Asmo quests were really annoying.. but at the same time the difficulty level jumped up so quickly for the Elyos missions at 17+. So I don't know what to do.

I really only played Cleric a lot, to be honest - I got to level 26. It was a lot of fun. I did get the impression that I sucked though - I kept hearing that clerics were overpowered, but I lost every duel, died a lot in party play as well and the abyss was just a big string of deaths to me. Still fun though.
I also played a Scout to level 5, which seemed rather weak and hard to play up until that level. It was probably the lack of actual skills - Scouts are, as far as I know, characters that need strategy and smart skill use, and that doesn;t really work when you have three skills to work with.

I'd also like to play the japanese beta a lot ^^; I hope the english patch will work on that as well though - I can listen and speak japanese a bit, but read it I can't.
