Well, war's started for me as of this morning. Rolled up on the Kislev server, order side (go go underdogs). I figure, between this and WoW with my friends, I should have enough to keep me busy till Aion (I hope). Toss in the occasional console game and I'm a happy camper.

I'm getting sick and tired of Open Beta being restricted Open Beta. I don't care if it's Fileplanet Only, Pre-orders, or whatever; but it seems that more and more devs are restricting it. I'm sorry, but the term Open Beta means just that, the unrestricted, OPEN phase of beta. If you're not gonna have it, just name it, oh I don't know...CLOSED beta. Too many games need the stress testing from a real OB and come launch, it's painfully obvious they either didn't test the hardware/login servers...

So I've been playing in the Warhammer closed beta for a little bit now and I have to admit, it doesn't suck. Granted, it's not gonna be a 'main' game for me, but for now, I do enjoy it (my roommate too, tho he's addicted). I still have issues with the cuts they made and it's confirmed why it was really done; to be Lich King out of the gate. Still, of all the silly reasons to cut massive amounts of content (4 classes and 4 Capital cities - Two of which being tanks, like MMOs have an overabundance...

I swear, the fates laugh at me. I've been following both Warhammer and Aion for quite some time (each about 2 years). At first, I was really looking foward to Warhammer and Aion was just that Korean MMO that might not suck. Well, over the course of the couple of years, it's quickly changed. Now I find myself really looking forward to Aion and hoping it rocks as hard as it sounds, but Warhammer...well, the recent changes killed off the class I wanted and changed the IP again, drastically. So these forums (the whole site really) is totally a double-edged sword. It's got great people, lots of info, and is really well put together...however, that's also a problem. My current job tends to get a little boring and i do get quite a bit of free time, in small chunks. Forums and blogs are great places to be. Sadly, with the wealth of info and the general non-stupidface people here, it's making it harder to find someplace else for info or just general reading. Being a MMOer w/o a current...
