Oh, it won't squish images down like that. It'll do it correctly and maintain the aspect ratio.

Hm... Main campaign storyline. Interesting. Really.
Question - if they use cutscenes, as Ken told us (and as we have seen in trailer with Wings Receinving Ceremony and another one with a battle with some kind of Naga), how the character who is currently inside the cutscene will be seen from 'outside'? Cutscene interrupts normal gameplay, so what will character do at this time? Just stand still? Disappear? How about attack from creatures/players this time? Cutscenes in singl-player games are common, but I really have not seen them in MMOGs. |

FFXI uses them all the time. I believe characters are counted as zoned in but invisible...I know when you zone into Delkfutt's Tower for the first time, the cutscene there zones you in, but doesn't actually make you targetable until it completes, meaning mobs can't aggro you.

I can imagine it now: Group of friends are in the middle of a cutscene and here come some baddies. *BUMP, SLAP, POKE, STAB* Come out of cutscene dead on the ground with the baddies lauphing their asses off. ( Mind you during the cutscene your in awe, filled with excitement, but clueless ) Hopefully they have these cutscenes inside safe areas, I know they could make it to where mobs couldnt aggro you but players are usually smarter than that, and in terms of targeting I am sure there'll be area affecting attacks. ( Or make you invulnerable )
