A damn shame my English sucks that badly... I won't be able to use this Voice feature anyway, so... ;]
Anyway... It would be nice if Aion had such a tool. As far as I know, there aren't many games which have... And the more unique features it has, the more players will play, right? ;D

Would make sense that NCsoft uses technology across games. I tend to believe that Tabula Rasa might have the same file. Can anyone check who has the game installed?

There is no way a games developer can implement a voice chat capability in their game which is as good as the most used ones ( TS and Ventrillo) .Blizzard tried it in WoW and failed in the worst possible way . I'm vehemently opposed to voice chat being implemented like this . Instead make it possible to integrate existing voice-chat programs into Aion. Those developers have vast experience with VC programs , you can never expect to top that .

Don't even attempt to make your own software for this .

I'd just like to mention that Lineage2 has a built-in MSN Messenger program and you can use you're normal e-mail adress to login and chat with friends that aren't in the game or w/e. (I found that useless but still an addition right?)

I'm sure you would have to join chat rooms for that, and passwords do exist for some reason...

Interesting thread.

Also: you don't want to have the voice chat become a dominating feature ( I know you have a choice normally but that also depends on the game design ) . I was in a GW-guild once where everything was done with voice chat . I know of some guilds in woW which make TS /Vent -use mandadory . That is not the way to go . The UI should be informative enough as to be able to play without using VC at all ( in any part of the game ) . This means extensive combat log, being able to see enemy casting bar etc.

I for one will never ever use any voice chat feature - if Aion is making it impossible to play without voice chat ,that means no Aion for me - because I'm not a player wanting to become oblivious to the outside world

Besides : I usually play CD's while playing any MMO

Voice communication is motly used for in-game orders. It's way faster for leaders to talk to the members of the clan than to type in chat. It's not mandatory for you to use one, but it really helps a lot, and i've never seen any top guild using only chat to play a game. It's also helpful when you want something from your healer but you can't type because you're under attack. I could name endless advantages... but you're the one who makes the choice.

No way TS3 is going to be packed into AION....just won't happen, it would be cool though.

Having Teamspeak 3 integrated into Aion would be a dream come true. As mentioned, when gaming studios develop their own voice-tools, they often fail miserably. :/ They just haven't got the same amount of experience as the specialised developers of vo-ip programs have been able to acquire.

Are you serious? I've been playing MMORPGs using voice chat 'cause it is the easiest way to communicate with your party and clan members, it really helps out because you spend less time, and while in PvP, time really matters.

I think that communication methods used in-game need to be the easiest because it takes only a few seconds for everything to get screwed up

Keyboards are for gaming, microphones for communicating

(just my personal opinion)

I'm happy with Aion having voice chat

Hi everyone,

well... anyway.... we need our "own" Voice chat ... dont u think so?...

just to let u know... I as myself, got my own voice chat... so lazy to chat on msn lolz... but i can increase the number of member who can join anytime... so... i ( might ) donate a voice chat server to the SWEET Aion Source .

still... just an opinion...
