Aion may have voice chat capabilities?

Judging by this article on Aion.co.kr and it's horribly translated (thank you Google) counterpart, it seems as if Aion has gained an interesting file or two. Namely one "ncVoiceChat.dll". So...what do you think? Is this cause for rejoicing? The article itself appears to be some kind of Aion CBT2 update troubleshooting faq.


Hopefully I'm not making a fool out of myself by posting this. Anyone want to confirm what I'm reading is what I think it is?

Hmm. It could be voice chat, or it could be referring to the character's voice. The latter makes more sense to me, would have thought there'd be more commotion about something like this

It seems a lot of users have been experiencing difficulties with the installation of the client that was released on 3. Apr., so here’s a series of instructions you can follow in order to remedy the problems.

1. 설치시 동일 드라이브 한 폴더에 4개의 파일을 모두 다운 받으시기 바랍니다.

3. 신규 클라이언트로 설치전 이전 CBT에 설치했던 '아이온' 꼭 지워 주시기 바랍니다.

4. 4개의 파일을 모두 다운 받았으면, AIONSetup.exe 실행 파일로 설치 하시기 바랍니다.
4. Once all four files have been downloaded, proceed with installation by running AIONSetup.exe.

 절대 4개의 파일을 임의로 압축을 해제 하거나 위와 다른 방법으로 설치 하지 마시기 바랍니다.
 Do NOT attempt to install the game by any other methods such as extracting the archives manually.

[#1] Notice of virus detection from the anti-virus software ‘Allyak (Pills)’
 4월 3일 업데이트된 시즌2 클라이언트 설치 시 일부 백신 프로그램(알약)에서 아이온 설치 프로그램에 포함되어 있는 ncVoiceChat.dll 파일을 바이러스로 인식하는 사례가 있었습니다.
 With the update of Season 2 Client released on 3. Apr., there was an issue with Allyak anti-virus software mistakenly perceiving ncVoiceChat.dll as an infected file.

하지만, ncVoiceChat.dll은 바이러스가 포함되어 있는 파일이 아닙니다.
ncVoiceChat.dll is NOT an infected file.
(보이스 채팅을 실행하기 위해 네트워크에 접속하려고 할 때 플레이어에게 확인하는 창을 띄우게 되면, 게임 플레이에 지장을 줄 수 있기 때문에 경고창을 띄우지 않으려는 성격의 파일을 알약이 임의로 바이러스로 오인한 경우입니다.)
(The anti-virus software mistakes it as a malicious file because when the client attempts to connect to the server in order to enable Voice Chat, it does not notify the user with a confirmation window, which we thought would be a hindrance to the gameplay so took it out.)

아이온을 설치하시고자 하는 테스터께서는 꼭 “알약” 백신 프로그램을 중지시켜주시고 아이온 클라이언트를 설치해주시기 바랍니다.
Please suspend Allyak’s operation before installing the client.

이미, ncVoiceChat.dll을 삭제하신 경우에는 아이온을 실행하실 수 없사오니, 아이온이 설치되어 있는 폴더 내 '\bin32 폴더'에 ncVoiceChat.dll 파일을 다시 설치하시면 됩니다.
The game will not run without nvVoiceChat.dll; please reinstall ncVoicechat.dll into \bin32 within Aion’s directory if necessary.
- ncVoiceChat.dll 파일은 4월 8일전까지 별도로 다운로드 받으실 수 있도록 조치하겠습니다.
- We will make ncVoiceChat.dll available as a separate downloadable file before 8. Apr.

차후 이 부분은 알약 제작사와 협의하여 해결해 불편함이 없도록 하겠습니다.

[4번] 설치시 문구가 "???????로 나오다가 에러메시지가 뜹니다."

 AppLocale 프로그램 삭제 후 반드시 재부팅 하시고 클라리언트 재설치 시도해 보시기 바랍니다.
 Please retry after deleting AppLocale and restarting the system.


[5번] 설치시 4개중에 특정 파일이 손상거나 포맷된 파일이라고 나오는 경우

 다운로드 중 네트워크 이상으로 일부 파일에 손상이 있을 수 있는 경우도 있습니다. 해당 파일이 포함된 클라이언트를 다시 다운 받아 처음부터 재설치 해보시기 바랍니다. 이전에 설치 했던 부분은 모두 삭제 하시기 바랍니다.
 It is possible that the archive could be damaged while downloading due to a network error. Please retry after re-downloading the file. Make sure to delete the previously installed files completely.


[6번] Shader Cache를 삭제할 수 없습니다. 게임 화면이 비정상적으로 보이거나 실행되지 않을 수 있습니다.
==> AION이 설치된 폴더내 sc_renew_local.dat, sc_renew.dat 파일 삭제 후 실행해 보시기 바랍니다.
#6 Cannot delete Shader Cache. The display looks abnormal or cannot be executed.
 Please retry after deleting sc_renew_local.dat and sc_renew.dat in the Aion directory.

[7번] Cannot find 'cvoicechat.dll '. Pleade, re-install this application

 알약 문제로 해당 파일이 삭제 된 경우 입니다. 해당 부분은 4월 8일 이전에 다시 다운로드 받을 수 있도록 조치 하겠습니다.
 This error occurs when Allyak deletes the file in question. We will make the necessary files available as separate downloads before 8. Apr.

From what it looks like, it doesn't seem to say specifically that Aion will have voice chat. However, what the heck is "ncVoiceChat.dll" doing there the first place? Hopefully it will feature voice communication in-game.

You know, you could chose characters voice at it creating screen. It would be cool, if ya talked in game and others heard your chars voice which ya choose and not ya real-life voice. ^^

Funny thing, the client of the game Exteel was crashed for the same ncVoiceChat.dll file, its a common feature?

Do you know Steam and their community features behind it? I'm sure NCSoft will plan something similar for their games. (Cross-game-messenger - like XFire - and a voice communication tool)
