AionSource.com and Curse form partnership (ftw)!

Hi everyone!

Aion is a game that I've watched for the longest time, I really can't describe how much I anticipate it's release, I can't wait! I discovered Aionsource over a year ago and I registered shortly after.

Anyway, as Mark said, alias is Zyuu and my real name is John. I've been playing MMORPGs since I was around 13 years old and I'm currently 24. I currently work for Curse and some of Curse's network sites. I'm happy to be here and I hope I can add something positive to the site and community. I'm in general very careful before I act most of the time and I've carefully observed how things work around here in general.

I hope to be able to make a more presence on the forums and help anyone that might have questions or any problems and/or suggestions with the site. One thing that was mentioned is more smileys earlier while talking in the flashchat.

Nothing is really changing expect for the site look and the forum skin. In a nutshell that means faster moderation on the forums/, better organization and a more functional site. Not to mention Aionsource.com is now on the Curse servers, so you should never experience any database issues and slowdowns as before.

Only having serious discussions is never fun. I think what Mark meant to say is that I've had more experience then him on managing communities in the past. To note is that a growing community always need stronger and better organization and moderation or it usually turn into a sandbox like l2guru is. I mainly just move threads to the right sections and make sure things don't go awfully off-topic, unless they are intended to be that way. I don't bite. Things will pretty much remain the same, but, you will see things taken care of in a faster pace and Aionsource.com is now ready for potential growth much better now.

Oh and I highly doubt anyone want the forums to be like L2guru.com. Aionsource.com seems to have an overall more mature userbase and I hope that keeps up. Banning someone is only something an admin should do in extreme cases IMO.

Plus, being new doing something -- I walk on eggshells.

Here's hoping for a great cooperation and a bright future for Aionsource.

I think the headline(or whatever you wanna call it..) color should be changed. It looks kinda funky with the rest of the site having various colors of blue. Other than that let's hope this change gives Aion some more recognition.

Hey gang,

This is Kody from Curse -- I'm the Content & Community Manager for the Curse Network. I just wanted to comment quickly, as I can definitely understand if there are concerns about the new AionSource and any possible change in direction because of the partnership.

AionSource.com will remain as it always has been. (Underlined because I feel it's a very important statement to make) Other than Zyuu helping out as a moderator on AionSource, mostly out of his own personal interest and excitement for the game, the Curse staff will not get involved directly in decisions made on the website. That's just not our style; we're partnered with several fansites now and we're very confident in the teams who built the sites from the ground up. We will be assisting in content creation, landing exclusives, etc. for the website, but in terms of making moderation decisions and rules -- we're keeping our hands off.

This website is Mark's baby, and he's still the man behind the driver's seat.

I updated my text a little bit. . And yes, what Kody said. Aion is a game that look so amazingly good and seem to have everything I've ever wanted in an MMORPG. I've never really been a "fan" of anything before. But I totally am of Aion.
