I don't understand why people are hating on anything simular to WoW or afraid to admit the simularities. WoW is a success because they have so many essentials right, just because you don't like some of the specific features in the game doesn't mean you have to be afraid of comparing the controls or the quest involvement to WoW, or feel like the game is a little less valuable because of it's simularities.

WoW is disliked because of specific elements, you should be understanding of any simular elements except thos specific dislikes, not blanket generalization.

Geez, you'd think you would write off sexy bodies because one hot woman had a bad additude from the way yal hate on WoW.

Its NOT so much that I myself (at least myself) is hating on w.o.w like you explained. the deal is, is that people say its like W.o.W, examples : interface or control style or even down to the mods coming out for a game, oh and instances,dungeons, quest style .... ETC ETC..

WELL heres the deal. If you've been playing mmo's before W.o.W then you should know that actually all these mmo's coming out haven't copied a single thing from w.o.w in fact I think some people get upset that W.o.W gets all the credibility when in reality W.o.W copied all of the other mmo traits handed down from MMO to MMO. all the way down to the Story line characters, and in depth interfaces. MODS to~

The fact that W.o.W copied other mmo's from what I hear-mostly the first Everquest, and warhammers similar Races/storyline for the races. But I'm not absolutely positive why everyone else doesn't like to compare aion or new mmo's coming out to W.o.W, I can tell you though! My reason is because W.o.W is bland .. has no content, boring, overrated. FULL OF CHILDREN, and the most of all, none of it is originally from W.o.W (yeah it's actually that uncreative/cheap of a game).

I'll give W.o.W some credit though and Thanks, I thank World Of Warcraft for setting the standards of MMO's not because they are creative or original because (they are not), but because of its popularity and stomping of other mmo's, and for that I thank W.o.W/Blizzard.

And to the moderator thank you for answering our Control style for Aion questions, but it was a tad bit short of a answer for the detailed question I gave, BUT it sounds about right

It's really simple. You can control like WoW or GW or L2 or whatever. Both point and click and WSAD like an FPS, complete with jumping that'll let you get over some obstacles Aion's devs have put on paths, etc.. Whichever style you prefer you can use.

I understand perfectly burlyman, the one who succeeds to present a system is the one who gets credit for it, just like the one who is recorded for fastest runner in the world is the record holder, not the actual fastest runner in the world.

I hope one day there will be a game which allows me to play as a dragon character, and a good game that provides the appearance and functionality I desire from playing a dragon. But never do I want to hear that they wern't the first MMO to do it, but Horizons was, because Horizons attempted to do it, and failed to do it, so when someone makes a successful MMO with dragon playable characters, they will be the one to recognize as developers of this "new" feature. Now I can understand if someone else did it better and didn't get the credit because they weren't known, but wile some features may have been pioneered and even done better in another game, few managed to accomplish throught the game, and none were able to surpass it.

No matter how much people hate on WoW, it is hard to pass everything Blizzard has accomplished to cheap crowd pleasing and reinnovation. WoW isn't just the biggest MMO, they outmatch all MMOs in the world combine. That's right, every MMO out there, great and small, put together, falls short of WoW subscription numbers. They just got too many things right, it doesn't matter the source.

Don't think it matters much, I mean if it was then Ayase probably would've told me to shut up or ban. I do know more than these but I won't say any stuff that would spoil people's curiosity and fun "guessing". Well I am probably not allowed to leak such information in the first place.

Does anyone know if currency is worth something? For instance in Lineage 2 Adena (the currency) is worth everything. People use it to buy even the highest level gear. On the other hand Diablo 2 , gold is worthless. In WoW gold is just used to repair armors and buy inferior things.
