I was also wondering about the transfering of stats from one set of armor to another, you said any class can wear any set of armor but it doesn't benefit you since the stats aren't for your class.
So does that mean you can transfer stats from a cloth armor piece onto a plate armor piece, to make it more useful?

Also, as a Spiritmaster do you learn your summons from training/items, or is it like in FFXI where you have to defeat them before you can use them? As I remember it was a very difficult task..

We don't know about the climbing at the moment. Swimming isn't in Aion as of now, but it'll be added by the time of Aion's release.
