a Few questions from yours truly :


From watching the video I have the distinct impression the game - in terms of combat mechanics and actual gameplay mechanics - is pretty much done ( except minor tweaks ) , can you confirm this from playing it ?

I was noticing red boxes popping up during combat ,what are those ( my knowledge of korean isn't that good , absent actually ) ?

What was the emote which had you floating ?

How much time did it take to get from lvl 1-4, how many "zones " does that take you to ?


As for quality of graphics : it looks stunning - especially considering settings and the loss of quality you always get when capturing ingame screenshots ,let alone videos .Besides : I'm more interested in gameplay. You can have marvelous graphics in a lousy game, we don't want that .

I remember that one of the developers said time ago that the game is not yet optimized (they had to tweak LOD settings and such).
I wonder if that work is already done. If it's not, then we can expect more fps (or more eye candy) with less expensive hardware.

I have a question for Zyuu: ¿if you play FarCry with max settings with that card, do you get the same fps, less, more? ¿Do you see the hard drive constantly loading stuff? ¿Can you run a benchmarking program and post your results here? That would help us to compare our machines and get an idea of the required hardware.

To my knowledge the red boxes and ??? during the intro showed up because Zyuu was running Aion without AppLocal on an English pc. The letters didn't exist or didn't render correctly.

The graphics in the beta seem to be gimped. I've tried manually changing them and letting Zyuu play with them but he says it makes it look worse! So I'm going to wait until release/English beta to really find the engine's limits. One of my main gripes is the way plants and trees are rendered, mostly as sprites instead of 3D objects, and the way shadows are cast, updated, and smoothed and at what distance. Also HDR and AA and AF and water quality all seem to be wonky. They look awesome as is, yeah, but I think they can look better.

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing! Honestly, I'm not too picky with the graphics, I think the game looks purdy. I'm just hoping for a satisfying MMO experience with some interesting and appealing content.

AA should be enabled. I can't read Korean though. We're better off waiting for the English version to make sure everything is enabled.

Really though, you can't justify the breathtaking graphics in Aion with screenshots or videos. . Also I will attempt to enable AA via the Nvidia control panel next time.

Edit: Actually, I think it was my modified driver. I'll install the latest instead.

Edit2: Ok with the latest Nvidia driver and me having the Nvidia control panel set to quality, Aion now look even sexier. Nice.
