....soul shots..... NCsoft never ceases to amaze me in there wisdom, maybe they don't learn from there mistakes? Soul Shots in Lineage II were not intended to be used all the time but guess what! Some say you cant compare Lineage II to Aion but from what ive seen you can, its the same developers i see time and time again where they have borrowed ideas from them, mostly good ones mind you, but this is one that is just a terrible idea. I played L2 for several years and in the beggining Soul Shots were not essential in fact most people didn't know what they did "closed/openbeta" but as time went on they became comparable to buying gas for your car, everyone needs it no one wants it.

well thats not quite correct i guess, cause to use them u need money, to get money u need to grind "*", to be able to grind u need time, to have enough time u ... well u need time^^ <---- and thats something that not everybody has

PS*: u also need to grind if u want some mobs to drop them so dont say u dont need money cause they get dropped^^

you need to grind for better gear, for hp/mana pots and many other things. why nobody is complaining about that huh? i as a future assassins/gladiator don't wanna grind for **** loads of HP pots while ranged classes don't have to do that! thats sooo unfair!

they needed it for the grind.

leveling was pure grinding.. ss did more dmg so faster leveling.

Aion uses quests as the main way to level up, wich means less grinding there for less need for SS

Do you want everything handed on a plate or do you want to play a game?

Seriously If the SS are gone it means something else in price will need to go up, or the money drops will be lowered.
resulting in the same amount of earned money in the end without the enjoyment you can get out of SS.

they look good and there useful.

ppl that complain about SS are dumb imo, if you had enough money in a few weeks to buy max lv gear you would whine that the game is to easy. Be happy ncsoft takes the time to think these kind of things out, you guys clearly don't.

@hogo: hmm well u see im gonna be a gladiator too and i dont think we will have to grind very much since the game is pretty much quest and party orientated, besides i think that raids will be enough to get better/good gear and weap

however IMO ppl have spamed enough about SS so i will leave it at this point

PS: aion got very beautiful landscapes so i wouldnt mind to grind a bit to be able to enjoy the area more

Hello, I have been following Aion since I discovered it last year, and can't wait to play it with my husband.

There is a question in particular that I am curious about, in regards to Aion. Anyone here who has played it could hopefully answer it for me.

Is there a /check or /examine option to check other players like in FFXI Online? As in if you were to hover over someone and are given a 'examine player' option you can see what gear they currently wear, their job, legion, and comment etc. Does Aion have this funtion within the game?

Yes, there is, however, use the Questions Thread in the General Discussions Section for questions like this. You can examine people in Aion, and there's a changing room of sorts like WoW, where you can check how a certain armor piece would look on your body.




On the left is the Changing Room of sorts,



And she is examining the character on the right here.

There are no comments for characters to type in text for whoever examines them like FFXI, but Aion has titles from quests and missions like FFXI, each actually having different effects on you.

The money sink aspect of SS I don't mind.

I just don't like the inconvenience (running out, restocking, carrying, etc), and the association it will create with L2. The visual effect is nice (assuming its similar) but it can get out of hand when you are in mass PvP, or raids. People and mobs can get lost in a huge noisy cloud of light.

Really I would have just liked to see them do something new.

I didn't like soulshots in Lineage. They were a great money sink, but it would bring way too much trouble with weight limit and you couldn't grind a certain area for too long since you would run out of them.
