EU.AionOnline.com News: The Aion FAQ has been updated!

From EU.AionOnline.com's news feed:

The Aion FAQ has been updated with new information concerning beta testing.

The entry is now as follows:

When will beta testing begin?

In lieu of beta testing, Aion fans will be given opportunities to participate in a small number of Preview events before the game’s release. In addition to soliciting player feedback, the Preview events will help prepare for Aion’s release, as well as provide a great gaming experience on launch day and beyond.

As with Aion’s release date, the schedule of these Preview events will be announced in coming months.

More information on the Preview events, including sign-up opportunities will be made in the near future.

wait... wait... wait... wait... wait... wait... wait... wait...

wait...

am i happy or sad about this? in lieu of testing, we will have "preview events"... that means either the game is just that close to being complete, and there is no "need" for additional testing (although, having feedback from western players would certainly make sense)...

or... ?

ah, forget it... im happy! bring on the previews!

i certainly hope these events arent restricted to media gatherings (PAX, etc)... not that that has been suggested...

and im a little confused by this line:

surely we'll have access to these events prior to launch... is this just implying the events will help those who have participated more easily dive into the game at launch? ... im probably just over analyzing...

Much like the Korean CBT stages? Or in the same vein as the Guild Wars weekend events? Either way playable Aion is always welcome news.

Reading that, no chance game will be released in 2008 then, hopefuly the beta will, in 2008, and if everything go smoothly, final product will hit the shelves on january february 2009... I hope so!

i think most folks here have come to grips with an 09 release... thats relatively old news...

but i think the consensus was that the US/EU markets would be exposed to the game (in a beta of sorts) prior to year end... if the preview events dont even start until 09... well... i cant be certain, but i think a few small kittens just kicked the bucket..
