Do you want to play Aion before the official launch date? Of course you do. This is your chance!

If the possibility of playing Aion at one of our demo booths in Leipzig combined with all our community activities is not enough to convince you to book your trip to Games Convention 2008, then the time has come to think again.

Starting with Leipzig and following on several other occasions later this year we’ll be offering the chance to not only register your interest in taking part in the future Exclusive Preview Event of Aion: The Tower of Eternity, but also to actually leave the convention knowing that you just won your spot. Yes, indeed. Each day we will randomly select 200 lucky fans to receive an email confirming their future slot and the fact that they will exclusively be contacted again when it’s time for letting people test and try out Aion at home in 2009, before our European launch.
I can clearly hear you all joining up in a glorious chorus of ‘Woohoo!’, but hold on - we’re not quite done yet….

There will be several competitions and activities each day at the Games Convention that offer you the possibility and chance to secure a slot. The ones lucky enough to win any of those will also get one of our official certificates to assert the secured spot, in the form of a Preview Event sticker (see below).


If you join us for our community day on the show’s Sunday you’ll even have multiple opportunities to win a slot. The previously mentioned costume competition is just one of the activities where we’ll be giving them away to the winners.

i think you're getting the two recent press releases confused... one mentions multiple events, while this one mentions Games Convention 2008 specifically (and what will be available there)...

Unless the multiple "events" are GC, PAX, etc. and the "Preview Event" is whats happening in 2009 thats a chance to try the game before launch to those who sign up for and/or "win" access.

calling on kieron or ayase for some much needed clarification!

1) are the preview events starting in 09?

2) will there be any other opportunities for the US/EU markets to experience Aion (outside of the press events) prior to 09?

well.. lets wait to see what we hear from some official sources...

i feel sorta bad for Ayase, who probably thought he was releasing some terribly exciting Aion news (which it is!), and then gets this immediate backlash...

im just curious to know why the only thing the US/EU market will (potentially) contribute to the game are localization "bugs"...

and lets be honest... im also really sad that i just wont get my hands on the game until 09...

according to the news feed in this thread:

In lieu of beta testing, Aion fans will be given opportunities to participate in a small number of Preview events before the game’s release. In addition to soliciting player feedback, the Preview events will help prepare for Aion’s release, as well as provide a great gaming experience on launch day and beyond.
