Kotaku's Hands-On Preview of Aion
Kotaku was one of the first members of the press to get a hands-on look at Aion™ today and they were left extremely impressed. Here's what they had to say in the preview: "But when I sat my skeptical self down for some hands-on time with NCsoft's Aion: Tower of Eternity, I was surprised to find that I actually wanted to keep playing when it was time to pack up and go."

The staff at the event were very excited with Aion's reception. One of the comments I got back was there were a couple instances where the people taking Aion for a test drive went just a few minutes over their allotted time. That's saying a fair amount where press are concerned. Overall, we are happy with the way the event went and are looking forward to a similar reception at PAX.

i think Aion will be well received at PAX...
can you clarify when/where the title was shown recently? was this in the states? and does the mention of "one of the first today" imply that we might see some more hands-on impressions soon?  __________________

Dalin, the event mentioned in the Kotaku (as well as Gamecyte) article took place in San Francisco on Wednesday and Thursday. I would guess there will be other previews showing up in coming days.
As for other events, the Develop conference took place last week; immediate future previews include Game Convention in Germany next week and PAX the week following. Diablo, I haven't heard of any plans for a stand alone character creator. It is a worthy suggestion that I will bring up to the powers that be, but I cannot say how it will be received. thanks kieron... i hadnt seen mention of the Gamecyte article...
looks like the marketing machine is indeed getting in gear... plenty of stuff to keep us occupied (for a short while, at least  )...__________________

Nice article, I winced when I saw them misspell Elyos and was waiting for one of those 'reviews' only to be pleasantly surprised.
It's really good to see people who have to play certain games to write about them actually getting almost giddy over this one!! It's very exciting. |
