As you probably read in my blog posting last week, we put some guys through what we call a ‘Live Quest’ at the Games Convention.

Live Quest, you ask. What is that?

Let me show you.

Mark, Szabi, Fleiva and Cori looked so energetic when we met them, that they were given a Leipzig map with some marked out co-ordinates. A bit like geocaching, just with a not so hidden treasure. The pen writing was not provided by us.

What happened next?

A great hunt entailed, indeed. The guys actually set out to locate these positions, all 49 of them. These were the positions of Aion advertisement banners from a campaign run for the duration of GC. The challenge was to take a picture of themselves in front of each one of them. And boy did they do it? In a journey that would exhaust most species of smaller dogs, over the course of two days, they went to find each and every banner* scattered throughout Leipzig.

They were all so optimistic and happy in the beginning.

One of my favourites. It just looks brilliantly casual. Spotlight’s on Mark.

So, what do I want to say with this blog post?

Well, two things:

1) These guys were really cool for going through with this and I thought it would be a nice feature to highlight.

2) If you have other cool things like this happening in the community, feel free to send a mail to ayase ¤ ncsoft.com. Basically, anything that could be really interesting to other Aion fans out there, I may write about. Disclaimer: It will be done on my own discretion, so don’t expect too much. I’m quite picky.

Once again - kudos to Mark, Szabi, Fleiva and Cori for completing our Live Quest. They were of course rewarded (with the grande treasure of a 60 day game time card, Guild Wars Platinum Edition and the latest Lineage II chronicle each). We hope to get more possibilities of doing stuff like this in the future. But until then.

* In fact, not all of the advertisements were there, which certainly came as a surprise to both them and us.

It was coffee in a few pictures, in the others it was an apple we found. See the map.

Gotta say, when i was looking through Mark's Flickr stream while he was in Germany, this was my favorite portion ^_^ Something really awesome about real life quests like this! So did you get enough xp to level Mark, or did you need more quests after this?

As for the card, is it rechargeable? And where would you recharge it (meaning, add more $$)

It's not used that way. It's mainly as a way to have a physical copy of the time you've paid for and for people who don't want to use their credit/debit card online and can buy it with cash instead. So instead of paying online, I just go to the store to buy a 60 day time card (for more or less the same amount of money) and then just input the code when I get home so I can play the game.

Right, so I guess in 2 months when that card expires, you have to go and buy another one, right? In other words, it's not rechargeable for another 60 day period.

Or you can just buy more time online, like most people do. You're not limited to just going out to buy cards from NCsoft... there are actually quite a few ways to purchase time for the game you love most. Visit NCsoft for more details about billing and such. Some of their games are also free of monthly charges, such as Guild Wars. It just depends, and luckily they have lots of different purchase methods to help keep your addiction free from any forms of interruption ^_^

Right. So after 60 days past (or even before), I would need to go buy another one to add more time into my account.

But like what Sokar said, most people just buy time online in a bundle to save a couple bucks and to not have to go to the store every couple months. Also, some stores don't have them (not sure if they are changing that) so it's just more convenient to buy online.

I have just one question: Why the hell do we not have awesome billboards like that here in the US? Id even take the German on it! lol
