THANK GOD I say! NC Austin was absolutley terrible, especially for Lineage 2. No customer support, no GMs, never regulated Adena buyers, and never stopped botters.

I hope with this change the Nc Austin company can finally get whipped back into working, as before they just sat around and did nothing. YES, IT IS A JOB...

I hope they can scrounge a solid foundation to work from, seeing how NC Austin is fail. But i think with this change they will have a new and higher quota and actually be a managing company, instead of money *****s.

as far as the gamers this is great news. but from within the company i bet there are hella mixed feelings. but im good hopes, those let go should hopefully not have a hard time finding work (relocation is a whole 'nother issue im afraid). but to come from a company like NC Soft (and its many subsets) and for it to not be a dishonorable discharge, im guessing other companies may want thair expertise.

I'm a little sorry for people loosing their jobs, but hey, it's the nature of the "Corporation".

I can't hide my excitement about the news of the new headquarters being localized in Seattle!! That's just a couple of hours from Vancity!!

Great changes may create great problems, but they also bring great improvements! Kudos NCsoft!

Yeah we read yesterday on gamasutra about the layoffs. Profits were down, layoffs not far behind.

But changes such as this can hopefully mean a better system and better customer support than before

Hopefully this a progressive move that can improve productivity and whatever else needs to be improved. The opposite scenario could occur, where their productivity is slowed down for a time as they get everything settled and whatever. I hope Aion's date is still about the same.

There have been no changes in the localization department here.

Jeff Strain will be heading up the development studios and games we handle at NCW, so assuming that he's involved with the areas you mentioned above shouldn't be too far-fetched. I'm afraid I can't give you a better answer right now.

I not for one minute had the idea of a "change" in NCsoft's strategy to have an impact on their AAA titles. I see it as a better resource management strategy. By focusing their best assets in "worthy" projects, they'll end up with pure quality products.
Layoffs don't always mean "Doom", but just cutting out the "rough edges".

I'm happy for NCsoft. Anyone who has an open mind and can see into the future, will see this as a great step forward.
